Self-Imposed Impotence

June 27, 2015 by · 1 Comment

And there we saw giants … and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. (Numbers 13:33)

One More Trip Around Mt. Sinai . . .

This one faithless act by the Old Covenant Israelites resulted in a generation’s worth of wandering in the wilderness: forty years of what amounted to one more trip around Mt. Sinai over and over and over again. We’re informed in Deuteronomy 1:2-3 that the trip from Mt. Sinai to Canaan was an 11-day journey. It instead took 14,600 days for the Israelites to finally complete in order to take dominion of the promised land bequeathed to them by Yahweh.1 Squandered time, lost opportunities, and wasted lives—all because of what amounted to self-imposed impotence.

The Israelites had no excuse. They had witnessed first-hand Yahweh’s multifaceted deliverance from Egypt, and yet they still refused to follow their Savior to their victory and inheritance.

Sound familiar? It should. American Christians have honed self-imposed impotence to a fine edge. They have been making one more trip around Mt. Washington over and over and over and over again as a consequence of looking to the Constitution2 rather than Yahweh’s moral law as the supreme law of the land.3 They have been repeating this trek, not for forty years, but for two hundred and twenty-seven years—82,855 days and counting. As a result, the kingdom languishes, wickedness abounds, and Christians are getting the trampling they deserve:

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. (Matthew 5:13)

However, all is not bad news. A good stomping tends to bring back some of the saltiness. In other words, eventually everything goes wrong just right. Lord willing, we’ll begin seeing greater and greater dividends on this “investment.” Until then, we will continue to witness the consequences of contemporary Christianity’s suicidal tendencies.

There are at least three tragic lessons to be gleaned from Numbers 13 and the Israelites self-imposed impotence. When we do the same:

  • We limit ourselves
  • We empower our enemies
  • We limit God.

Limiting Ourselves

Unlike Joshua and Caleb, the ten faithless spies limited themselves, not so much as the result of viewing the inhabitants of Canaan as giants, but as the result of regarding themselves as grasshoppers:

For as [a man] thinketh in his heart, so is he…. (Proverbs 23:7)

They were grasshoppers because they saw themselves as grasshoppers. Thus, it was inevitable they would also act like grasshoppers.

Worse, what a man fears often becomes his reality:

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. (Job 3:25)

After rejecting Yahweh’s initial instructions, this is precisely what occurred when the Israelites proceeded without Yahweh’s sanction:

And they rose up early in the morning, … saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which Yahweh hath promised: for we have sinned. And Moses said, … it shall not prosper. Go not up … because ye are turned away from Yahweh, therefore Yahweh will not be with you. But they presumed to go up unto the hill top…. Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites … and smote them, and discomfited them…. (Numbers 14:40-45)

It is, therefore, crucial we fear no one but Yahweh:

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in Yahweh shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:25)

To do otherwise is a violation of the First Commandment, per Deuteronomy 6:1-24, etc.4

Today’s Christians have limited themselves in numerous ways, principally with their anti-dominion mindset. Among other things, this theology teaches:

  1. The kingdom has yet to be established
  2. It’s a spiritual kingdom and, therefore, not present in this world
  3. Yahweh’s moral law is not relevant under the New Covenant5
  4. Christ’s return is imminent
  5. It’s therefore futile to “polish brass on a sinking ship”6

All of this translates into a church that, for the most part, is culturally impotent. Christians are no longer pursuing the kingdom of God here on earth as it is in heaven. Instead of pursuing the kingdom of heaven (a phrase employed thirty-two times in Matthew’s Gospel), most contemporary Christians pursue the kingdom in heaven (a phrase found nowhere in the Bible). They thereby leave the non-Christians virtually unchallenged regarding most affairs here on earth.

If Christians would pursue the kingdom of heaven here on earth now, they wouldn’t have to concern themselves with the kingdom in heaven in their future. Turn that around and you may very well have reason for concern about your place in the kingdom in heaven. Why would the King want anyone with Him in heaven who is indifferent to His kingdom here on earth? It’s the New Covenant equivalent to Haggai 1:

Thus speaketh Yahweh of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that Yahweh’s house should be built. Then came the word of Yahweh by Haggai the prophet, saying, Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled [paneled, NASB] houses, and this house lie waste? Now therefore thus saith Yahweh of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith Yahweh of hosts; Consider your ways. (Haggai 1:2-7)

And Yahweh’s enemies love to have it so. They relish Christianity’s self-imposed impotence. This impotence amounts to a grasshopper mentality by which Christians have all but confined themselves within the four walls of their homes and church buildings. They have effectively walled themselves off from the world—or at least from having any kind of significant impact upon the world. In fact, on February 27, 2009, James Dobson conceded that we have lost the culture wars.7

The good news is that if Christians will shed this millstone they’ve hung around their own necks, they can turn this around.8 They might even begin to resemble their first-century brethren who were accused of turning their world upside down:

And when they [some of Christendom’s first-century enemies] found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down … [doing] contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus. (Acts 17:6-7)

Empowering the Enemy

A grasshopper mentality not only limits ourselves, it also emboldens our enemies:

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. (Numbers 13:33)

Those last seven words reveal how we empower the enemy when we deem ourselves anything less than how Yahweh views us.

Contrast Numbers 13:33 with what occurred forty years later when Joshua sent two men to spy out the same land. After hiding the spies on her roof, Rahab declared the following:

And she said unto the men, I know that Yahweh hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. (Joshua 2:9)

What made the difference? Both the Israelites and Canaanites were the same people they were forty years earlier. But the second time around the Israelites had shed their grasshopper shackles and instead viewed themselves as the giants—or even better, led by a giant. In other words, instead of viewing themselves as sheep for the slaughter, they esteemed themselves as sheep led by a lion—and this time the Canaanites were terrorized.

Presently, Christianity’s enemies do not fear us. They have no cause to, if for no other reason than collectively we view ourselves as Christianity rather than Christendom.

In other words, we’re not taken seriously because we’ve yet to take ourselves seriously. We view ourselves as grasshoppers—as victims instead of victors, as the trampled instead of the tramplers, as the domineered instead of the domineering. Thus, the non-Christians ruling over us see us the same.

Don’t overlook the prefix “dom” in the word “domineering,” the same prefix in the word “dominion” and suffix in the word “kingdom.” To be kingdom-minded demands we be dominion-minded, and to be dominion-minded demands we view ourselves as the dominate rather than the dominated in society.

What Christianity’s enemies fear is the day Christianity sheds their mentality of “There are giants in the land everywhere we look!” This will occur when Christians wake up to the fact that from God’s perspective on high, the alleged giants aren’t giants at all. They are as much grasshoppers as we are. When this occurs, Christianity will have begun to trust in the One who’s bigger than both themselves and the “giants” in the land. That’s the day Christianity begins to be, once again, transformed into Christendom!

Until then, our enemies will continue to be empowered by Christianity’s self-imposed grasshopper outlook.

Limiting God

Not only does a grasshopper mindset limit ourselves and empower our enemies, it limits God.

This last point will likely be difficult to accept by anyone who believes in the overarching sovereignty of God, as I do. Nevertheless, note the following three passages, which indicate we limit God Himself with our grasshopper mentality:

How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. (Psalm 78:40-41)

Behold, Yahweh’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:1-2)

And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. (Matthew 13:58)

What an absolute tragedy when we self-impose impotence. It limits us, it empowers our enemies, and worst of all, it limits Yahweh in what He would otherwise accomplish through us.

One More Trip Around Mt. Washington . . .

America is destined for more trips around Mt. Washington—until Christians have been finally honed by America’s desert fires and are prepared for establishing, maintaining, and sustaining dominion on behalf of their King.8 May Yahweh hasten the day! In fact, it appears He already has. Praise God, the paradigm shift has already begun!

Law and Kingdom: Their Relevance Under the New Covenant

1. YHWH, the English transliteration of the Tetragrammaton, is most often pronounced Yahweh. It is the principal Hebrew name of the God of the Bible and was inspired to appear nearly 7,000 times in the Old Testament. Regrettably, it was deleted by the English translators. In obedience to the Third Commandment and the many Scriptures that charge us to proclaim, swear by, praise, extol, call upon, bless, glorify, and hold fast to His name, we have chosen to memorialize His name here in this document and in our lives. For a more thorough explanation concerning important reasons for using the sacred name of God, see “The Third Commandment.”

Subjectivism: Why It will End the Human Race and Damn the Souls of Men

June 23, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

Barbarism is that which prevailed from the days of Adam down through ten generations to the time of Noah.  It is called barbarism because of the fact that in those times men had no ruling authority or mutual accord, but every man was independent and a law unto himself after the dictates of his own will.”   (John of Damascus, “The Fount of Knowledge,” cited in Political Apocalypse, Ellis Sandoz, p. 131)

As pre-flood barbarism was an anarchy of selfishness in accord with Nietzsche’s moral philosophy, “You have your way, I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, it does not exist,” it is no different from its’ “enlightened” and supposedly “evolved” modern Western counterpart.    The animating spirit of both pre-flood and post-flood barbarism is “there is no fear of God before their eyes,” (Rom. 3:18) and “they do not love the Truth” (2 Thes. 2:10).

In our “enlightened” age hatred of immutable Truth is cloaked in deceptive terms such as subjectivism, scientism, postmodernism, syncretism, moral relativism, universal evolution, evolutionary biology, and deconstruction (1).  As evolution implies continuous change it is a two-pronged fork, a hellish spike scepter of relativism and deconstruction that with one tine serves up an anti-creation account—an inverted exegesis that reduces man in the spiritual image of the Holy Trinity to evolved ape, and with the other argues that since humanity has evolved from lesser to greater biological organisms, the same change process is in play in the area of morals and biblical infallibility. (2) Therefore, all that can be known at present—and forever—is that there is no absolute or fixed certainty in either the area of morality or the Revealed Word of God.

In his well-known book, “The Battle for the Bible,” (1976) the late Dr. Harold Lindsell foresaw the ominous eventuality of apostasy once the doctrine of biblical inerrancy was largely scrapped as is increasingly the situation today:

It is my contention that once biblical infallibility is surrendered it…will end up as apostasy at last. It is my opinion that it is next to impossible to stop the process of theological deterioration once inerrancy is abandoned…. ”  (The Battle for the Bible, pg. 142

Universal Madness

Modern barbarism is the universal madness (raging soul sickness) issuing in demonic darkness foreseen by the dark prophet Nietzsche. It was the apostate Christian philosopher Nietzsche,  the son of a Lutheran pastor who pronounced the death of the Christian God and saw that His death had already begun to cast its first shadows over Europe, and though the event itself is far too great,

“….  too much beyond most people’s power of apprehension, for one to suppose that so much as the report of it could have reached them,” still its advent was certain, and it was men like Nietzsche who were “the firstlings and premature children of the coming century,” the century of the “triumph of Nihilism.” (Nihilism: The Root of the Revolution of the Modern Age, Eugene Rose, p. 44)

Calling himself the Antichrist, Nietzsche went on to say that because apostate Christians had murdered the God of Revelation in the 19th century there would follow two calamitous consequences (two Judgments) during the 20th century and beyond.

First, the 20th century would become the bloodiest, most catastrophically destructive century in history, and second, a universal madness would break out and as it reached its fullness in time would turn the West upside-down. Having rejected the Light that came into the world (John 3:19) Western ‘elites’ would turn back to irrational ancient occult doctrines and Gnostic pagan and mystical pantheist conceptions.  Lucifer would be hailed as the first free-thinker and genetic creator of man, totalitarian communism and socialism would become heaven on earth, and love would no longer be the summation of the Ten Commandments but rather unconditional acceptance of the evil in man.  In this way everything perverse and abnormal would be good and normal so that male would also be female and female also be male while universal sodomy, pederasty, lesbianism, sadism, incest, rape and bestiality would become the norm.

Pilate said to him, ‘What is truth?’”  (John 18: 38)

Nietzsche has been right on both counts.  Our age is a darkly twisted, obscenely inverted time in which the things that everyone  really know to be true, good, decent, and right, are treated as unheard of, intolerant, judgmental, hateful, bigoted, anti-science and evolution, backward, stupid, narrow-minded, moronic, alarmist, divisive, racist, xenophobic and homophobic because the prevailing climate is one of moral relativism.  For example, a majority of Americans, both Christian and secular, deny that there is any absolute truth, especially when it comes to matters of personal and private vice.  This penetrating darkness is even deeper in Europe where most people have a live-and-let-live attitude, and voice opinions like, “What is right for you may not be right for me, and what is right for me may not be right for you.” (3)

According to Collin Garbarino, author of “Moral Relativists in the University: They Aren’t Who You Think They Are,” young conservatives arriving on campus are as morally relative as liberals. While a liberal faculty certainly promotes the idea that “good” is a relative term defined by the individual and the only “bad” is to infringe on another person’s ability to express their own version of “good,” the battle for conservatism was lost long before students ever met their first college professor. In my experience, said Garbarino, freshmen arrive on campus as moral relativists.  (The Aquila Report, August 24, 2014)

In other words, it’s Christian and Jewish parents who impress their own moral relativism upon their children.  Christian philosopher Peter Kreeft, Ph.D., reports that polls show that Catholics are as relativistic, both in behavior and in belief, as Protestants. Sixty-two percent of Evangelicals say they disbelieve in any absolute or unchanging truths, and American Jews are significantly more relativistic and more secular than Gentiles. (A Refutation of Moral Relativism, Peter Kreeft)

In “What We Can’t Not Know,” a penetrating examination of the lost world of unchanging truths, moral absolutes, and morally-grounded common sense  that we all really do know about right and wrong, author J. Budzisewski, professor of government and philosophy at the University of Texas, writes that the pervasive darkness within both our churches and society requires lots of lies:

“…the public relations of moral wrong require lies, and a lot of them…There are the lies about whether infidelity and promiscuity really hurt anyone. There are the lies about whether the living child is really alive, or really a child. Next come lies about the meaning of fairness, the nature of promises, and what the “committed gay relationship” is really like. Amid all of them is the lie about how hard it is to know what to do.” (p. 195)

And then there are the lies about whether the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit or is really nothing more than a book of myths and morals written by superstitious men in our prescientific, pre-evolutionary past.  And since this is the case, say relativists (liars), then why not say that God made and ignited a Cosmic Egg (Big Bang) which generated matter and energy. Then after billions of years of God-directed evolution eventuating in the suffering and death of millions of life-forms (making God the cause of death and evil), man inexplicably fell from grace even though God is the guilty party.  If everyone feels that this version of events feels right then why not make it the indisputable account?    After all, who can know truth?

The Truth about Evil

Subjectivism begins with pride (love of self), and a will turned toward evil, the perfect anti-God, anti-truth, anti-authority, anti-higher knowledge state of mind:

Our first parents fell into open disobedience because already they were secretly corrupted; for the evil act [would] never [have] been done had not an evil will preceded it. And what is the origin of our evil will but pride? For “pride is the beginning of sin” [Ecclus. 10:13?]. And what is pride but the craving for undue exaltation? And this is undue exaltation, when the soul abandons Him to whom it ought to cleave as its end, and becomes a kind of end to itself. This happens when it becomes its own satisfaction. . . . This falling away is spontaneous; for if the will had remained steadfast in the love of that higher and changeless good by which it was illumined to intelligence and kindled into love, it would not have turned away to find satisfaction in itself. . . . The wicked deed, then that is to say, the transgression of eating the forbidden fruit was committed by persons who were already wicked.”  (Augustine, The City of God, trans. Marcus Dods et al., in Augustine, Basic Writings, 2:257-58; 14.13)

R.C. Sproul comments:

“Augustine…identifies the cause of the first transgression as pride. But he recognizes that the presence of pride is already evil. He does not shrink from declaring that the first actual sin was committed by creatures who were already fallen. They fell before they ate the fruit.”  (Sproul, Willing to Believe: The Controversy Over Free Will, p.53)

In “Against the Heathen,” early Church Father Athanasius writes that a haughty spirit filled with pride and conceit of self-preceded pre-flood man’s fall.  A haughty spirit led them to make light of the immutable truth and moral law of the Holy God, and deliberately disregarding what they knew to be true they began to seek in preference things in the lower or man-centered universe.  Thus, in preference to the Holy God and higher knowledge, they fell into worship of self, sexual pleasures and acquisition of status and things. Moreover, as they attributed the existence of all things animate and inanimate to nature they worshipped and served matter, movement and energy.

The truth as to evil said Athanasius,

“….is that it originates, and resides, in the perverted choice of the darkened soul” which, “materialized by forgetting God” and engrossed in lower things, “makes them into gods,” and thereby “descends into a hopeless depth of delusion and superstition,” whereby “they ceased to think that anything existed beyond what is seen, or that anything was good save things temporal and bodily; so turning away and forgetting that she was in the image of the good God, she no longer… sees God the Word after whose likeness she is made; but having departed from herself, imagines and feigns what is not (and then) advancing further in evil, they came to celebrate as gods the elements and the principles of which bodies are composed….” (Against the Heathen, New Advent)

What is Truth?

Since the fall, all men and women—like dumb sheep—have obeyed the lusts of the flesh, worshipped the gods of intellectual arrogance and appetites, followed after the prince of the air and allured by his lies packaged as gleaming nuggets of esoteric truth dutifully slouched toward hell.

Truth however, is neither the seductive lies of the devil nor the opinions, fleeting feelings and perverted choices of fallen men but rather the Second Person of the Holy Trinity (John 16:6).  Jesus is the embodiment of the wisdom of God; He is the eternally unchanging Word of God.  John 1:10 tells us that everything seen and unseen was created ex nihilo by the spoken Word of the Son of God, which means that Jesus Christ was active and present long before His incarnation, therefore eternally co-existent with the Father. Jesus Christ is therefore God just as the Father and Holy Spirit are God, thus the Word of the Old Testament’s creation account is Jesus Christ of the New Testament (John 1:1). Jesus Christ is the Word. His Word is Truth even as He Himself is Truth, the same today as yesterday and for always. Truth then is Jesus Christ Who teaches, “The truth will make you free.”

Truth is fidelity to Jesus Christ, hence Truth is an objective social good meant to be shared by all mankind.  But like their father the devil, subjectivists hate Truth and work to suppress it, and  herein lay the psychological violence which is the evil fruit of moral relativism:

The clue to the mentality of the liar, in his hatred of truth, is his hatred of God.  And this hatred of God floods over into hatred of those whom God loves, the innumerable millions for whom his divine Son died.”   (The Roots of Violence, Vincent P. Miceli, S.J., p. 29)

In “The Poison of Subjectivism,” C.S. Lewis warns that subjectivism will certainly end the human race and “damn our souls.”   Because Lewis was an orthodox Christian he agreed with the fundamental teachings of his Lord and savior Jesus Christ  and the Old Testament prophets that salvation presupposes sin (soul sickness) and the need of repentance, therefore repentance logically presupposes an objectively real Moral Law and need of a Savior.  It follows that Jesus Christ, our Savior, did not die for our opinions:

He did not say that His blood was the blood of the new and everlasting covenant and that it would be shed for you and for all so that opinions may be forgiven; He did not say, “I am a way, a truth, and a life”; He did not say, “Let he who is without opinion cast the first stone”; He did not say to that dark tempter, “It is said, ‘Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God,’ but hey, Satan, whatever works for you.” (4)

In this light we can see that moral relativism will surely damn our souls because just as it suppresses objective truth and reality, so it eliminates Moral Law, thereby trivializing repentance, imperiling salvation and ending the human race, not by flood as in the days of pre-flood subjectivists, but by fire, reserved for the post-flood world and its “enlightened” subjectivists.

Lewis sees farther than most, thus he argues that human kind will be ended because the entire human race is becoming increasingly Westernized, thereby relativized.  The tragic irony here is that America,  which at one time was a fortress of Christian light, is now the primary source of moral relativism (demonic darkness) in the world today.  This is because America’s collapsing Christian denominations no longer defend Biblical infallibility, objective truth and moral law.

Os Guinness comments:

“….it is a point of fact that in many, if not most parts of the Western world, what was still left of the Christian foundations of the West have collapsed or are collapsing.  The Christian church is on the defensive everywhere.  The Christian faith is derided among the thought leaders of our societies, and now we are told it is being abandoned in droves—even if many of the defectors are not really atheists or even agnostic, but in limbo between the….halfway houses of ‘believing without belonging’ or still ‘belonging without believing.'”  (Renaissance: The Power of the Gospel However Dark the Times, Os Guinness, p. 18)

Erwin Lutzer concurs:

“No nation has turned away from so much light in order to choose darkness. No nation has squandered as many opportunities as we have. We can only call on God for mercy, and if it pleases Him He will come to our aid….if we humble ourselves, weeping for this nation, God may yet intervene and restore decency to this crazed world. Most of all, we should pray that millions would be converted and belong to God forever. People change their minds only when God changes their hearts.”  (Erwin W. Lutzer, Where Do We Go From Here?: Hope and Direction in our Present Crisis)
Guinness sums up the downward spiral of the West:

Western cultural elites have disregarded God for more than two centuries, but for a while the effects were mostly confined to their own circles. At first, they disregarded God. Then they deliberately desecrated Western tradition and lived in ways that would have spelled disaster if they had been followed more closely. But now in the early twenty-first century, their movement from disregard to desecration to decadence is going mainstream, and the United States is only the lead society among those close to the tipping point…. Soon, as the legalization and then normalization of polyamory, polygamy, pedophilia and incest follow the same logic as that of abortion and homosexuality, the socially destructive consequences of these trends will reverberate throughout society until social chaos is beyond recovery. We can only pray there will be a return to God and sanity before the terrible sentence is pronounced: “God has given them over” to the consequences of their own settled choices.” (p. 20)

“… as in the days of Noah….and of Lot (Sodom) so will it be in the days of the Son of Man.”   Luke 17: 26-28

A stunning spiritual transformation of consciousness is rapidly shifting Western and American thinking away from the supernatural God of Revelation and biblical religion and toward a  ‘new’ pagan/mystical pantheist religion of nature and goddess worship (Gaia), evolution, relativism and androgyny, the pagan ideal.  In his book, “The Making of the New Spirituality: The Eclipse of the Western Tradition,” James Herrick calls it the “New Religious Synthesis.”

The New Synthesis reverses and inverts each major tenet of God’s Revealed Word.  For instance, the Holy Triune God is supplanted by a universal life force called evolution, the principle miracle-producing power of  an evolving man-centered universe infused with divine consciousness.  Moreover, human beings are no longer created but rather the conscious products of the universal life force evolving upward toward a divinity of their own and can now achieve ever-higher levels of consciousness by directing their own evolution.  Man’s rational self-consciousness as well as science, the instrument of his autonomous will, supplants the Mind of God and is the first inkling of man’s own latent divinity.

Moreover, immutable truth, Moral Law, history and Christian-based holidays and tradition are rendered obsolete because the idea of continuous change (evolution) makes them absurd.

The  New Synthesis  is rooted in common mystical experiences and telepathic revelations from disembodied intelligences while ‘Science’ is divine Reason’s instrument which,

“…provides theological insight to guide our quest for spiritual awareness and attainment.  Among science’s greatest revelations–second only to its confirmation of evolution as the operative principle of the cosmos—is that monism and pantheism are proven by deep inspection of physical matter.  This massively significant discovery confirms ancient ideas about universal unity originally delivered through shamans and mystics and still reflected in tribal spirituality.”  (pp. 33-35; 250-251)

What all of this means is that the rebellion, apostasy, idolatry and subjectivism that has characterized the modern age since its beginning is actually an ominous neon arrow pointing to the Judgment and end of  the West and America.   And when these evils finally prevail throughout the world, then as a thief in the night will come the Day of the Lord (2 Pet. 3:10) and the unrepentant soul-sick human race will meet its’ allotted fate:

Their destruction will overtake them while they dream of happiness, and please themselves with vain amusements. There will be no means to escape the terror or the punishment of that day.”   However, the Day of the Lord, “will be a happy day to the righteous. They are not in darkness; they are the children of the light. It is the happy condition of all true Christians.” (Matthew Henry, commentary on 1 Thessalonians 5:2)

The Day of the Lord—-when?

As no man can see what lies beyond the horizon no one can say when the Day of the Lord will be.  So in the light of all of this bad news what are faithful Christians to do?   For one thing, said Guinness, we can recognize that the faithful and orthodox in each tradition, whether Eastern or Roman Catholic and Protestant are actually closer to Jesus and each other than to the liberal subjectivist revisionists in their own traditions.  In other words, a remnant according to the election of grace is slowly but surely emerging from the wreckage.  (Roman 11:5)

Though the final factor in the future is unknown it is sure because we can trust that our Lord will build His church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Therefore, as faithful and orthodox believers we can and must repent of our sins, trust in God, stand on His Truth, edify and comfort the saints and proclaim His gospel.  We are to be busy about the Father’s business in making disciples and seeing the power of the gospel transform lives.  We must trust in God and His gospel and challenge the darkness with the only hope there is—the hope brought into being through the presence of the promised Holy Spirit (Romans 8:2-25); the future hope of the resurrection of the dead (Acts 23:6); the redemption of the body and of the whole creation (Romans 8:23-25), the glorious return of Christ (Titus 2:11-14) and eternal life in paradise—the inheritance of the saints (Titus 3:5-7).

Any [teaching] that is good is in the Word of God, and any that is not in the Word of God is not good. I am a Bible Christian and if an archangel with a wingspread as broad as a constellation shining like the sun were to come and offer me some new truth, I’d ask him for a reference. If he could not show me where it is found in the Bible, I would bow him out and say, “I’m awfully sorry, you don’t bring any references with you.” ~ A.W. Tozier

There’s an ongoing debate as to whether or not Bono, U2 front man and one of the world’s most recognized rock stars, is an authentic Christian, although he states that he is.  Many Bible believing Christians have looked at the evidence and have come out and said that, although he professes Christ, he’s not a true Christian.

So let’s examine the evidence.

On his belief about Jesus Christ, Bono said this:

I believe that Jesus was, you know, the Son of God.

Does he mean the Jesus who’s the Second Person of the holy Trinity?

In 2005 after the release of his book “Grace Over Karma” he stated:

The point of the death of Christ is that Christ took on the sins of the world, so that what we put out did not come back to us, and that our sinful nature does not reap the obvious death. That’s the point. It should keep us humbled. It’s not our own good works that get us through the gates of heaven.

He’s right.  It’s not our own good works that gets us to heaven “for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” that saves us. (Eph. 2:8-9)

In 2014 Jim Daly, President of Focus on the Family, interviewed the rock star on his radio broadcast and said this:

[H]e’s known great success, both in his career as a musician, and in his work as a global advocate for the poorest of the poor. He’s also the co-founder of The ONE Campaign, and their motivation is to help people who are suffering.

All of this is true.  But that means he’s a do-gooder.  It does not make him regenerate.

Not surprisingly, when Daly invited him on the show conservative Christians who are aware of some of the controversial things he has said over the years thought it was a mistake.  Many people wondered why a pro-family leader of Daly’s stature would pass him off as a Christian by saying, “he’s a believer in Jesus Christ, and professes Christ as his Savior. In fact, Bono’s spiritual journey has been greatly influenced by a mutual good friend — Eugene Peterson, who’s the author of The Message. And he’s also written a great book called Run With The Horses that has had a great influence on Bono and many of us.”

I don’t have the space to address my concerns with Eugene Peterson or The Message Bible he penned – it’s a parody of the Bible.  So links are included below.

Looking at the things Bono has said (I’m coming to that) although he professes a belief in Christ clearly he doesn’t believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God.  Moreover, his social views are decidedly “progressive.”  In fact, his religious beliefs blend nicely with emergent gurus such as Brian McLaren, Jim Wallis and Tony Campolo.  These men are leftists who are leading the Church away from Sola Scriptura into what Ken Silva referred to as the “emerging cult of the new liberal theology.”  The controversial movement, called the Emerging/Emergent Church (EC), seeks to reach the unchurched with their unbiblical version of the Christian message.  In so doing they have cooked up a cauldron ofsyncretism stew.

So – what’s important to know about EC leaders is that their aim is change and their plan, and they do have one, is to dismantle historic orthodox Christianity and bring forth a “new paradigm,” a “new kind of Christianity.”  Be wary of words such as story (story of God, story of Jesus)… becoming… conversation… missional… reimagine… tribe… deconstruction… vision, etc.  Emergents are “Christ followers,” they are “Social Justice Christians.”

Social Justice Christianity

The moniker liberals who profess Christ prefer is Social Justice Christian.   One conservative blogger commented that Bono is “social justice, ecumenical, globalist, Agenda 21 promoting.”

He’s all of that for sure.  Bono’s an activist and philanthropist with a stated goal to eliminate world poverty.  Because he’s hugely popular people want to know what he thinks about this and that.  So naturally he takes every opportunity to promote causes he cares about including HIV/AIDS infection in Africa and third-world debt relief.  Tom De Weese of the American Policy Center once quipped that he “dogged political leaders around the world, using his rock star status to pressure them into accepting his brand of global guilt.”

So – should it matter to Bible believing Christians that Bono is a “progressive”?  Should we be concerned that he’s spreading Social Justice Christianity around the globe?  I mean, he’s telling people about Jesus, isn’t he?

Well, yes, it should matter to Christians that a person as famous as Bono is promoting an unbiblical version of Christianity and a “different Jesus.”  Many people idolize celebrities.  Adoring fans hang on their every word.   And, sadly, many Christians don’t read their bibles so they not only are ignorant of its teaching, they lack spiritual discernment.  In other words, they’re easily influenced by celebrity but not so much by the Bible.

When it comes to a LIE-celeb such as Bono, the question we must ask ourselves is this: What gospel is he sharing, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ or is he sharing another Jesus…another spirit…another gospel (2 Cor. 11:4)?  If it’s the later then it makes him a false teacher.

The Apostle Paul spoke out against counterfeit Christians:

And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do.  For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.  And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. (2 Cor. 12-15)

Elliott Nesch of The Waundering Path writes:

How many of those who have been saved from extreme poverty through Bono’s ONE Campaign are now saved from their sins through the same effort? Can social justice, debt relief, and elimination of the AIDS epidemic bring glory to God when it is completely unconnected to the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? (Source)

A very good question.

Can’t We All Just COEXIST?

Lighthouse Trails Research (LTR) has a piece entitled Focus on the Family Gives Bono a Platform – Another Example Where 2 +2 Don’t Add Up.  LTR shares a quote by Christian researcher Berit Kjos from her book Protect Your Child From the New Age & Spiritual Deception:

U2’s 2005 tour was aimed at joining all religions into a unified global spirituality. To emphasize the coming solidarity, the word “COEXIST” was featured on a giant screen. The capital “C” pointed to the Islamic crescent, the “X” symbolized the Jewish Star of David, and the “T” was a reminder of the Christian cross. Bono led massive crowds in a vibrant chant: “Jesus, Jew, Mohammed—It’s True!

Not everyone approved. Singer/songwriter Tara Leigh Cobble said, “He repeated the words like a mantra, and some people even began to repeat it with him. I suddenly wanted to crawl out of my skin. . . . Was Bono, my supposed brother in Christ, preaching some kind of universalism?”

“I felt like I was witnessing an antichrist,” said her friend.

In one song, “God’s Country,” Bono belts out the words, “I stand with the sons of Cain,” The Bible tells us that Cain “was of that wicked one, and slew his brother” (1 John 3:12), not exactly someone who a Christian would want to be found standing in agreement with.

Kjos later says:

Are Christian leaders speaking up and warning others about Bono? No, on the contrary, reveals one Christian journalist:

“One of the leaders being promoted today by those purporting to be officiating the way for our young people—to include Bill Hybels, Brian McLaren, Rick Warren, and Rob Bell—is ‘Christian’ Rock star Bono of U2, whom many emergents view as their ‘prophet’ and the main icon of their movement. In Bono’s rendition of Psalm 23, he alters the entire thrust and message of this beautiful psalm to something that sounds nothing less than blasphemous. For example . . . he alters the wording to say ‘I have cursed thy rod and staff. They no longer comfort me.’”  [This rendition of Psalm 23 is documented in The Submerging Church DVD.]

And in the summer of 2005, Rick Warren attended the Live 8 Concert with Bono where he was made the official pastor at the event.  Rick Warren did not issue a warning at the event about Bono, leaving the impression on thousands of young people’s minds that Bono is OK.  (from chapter 17, HPC)

Bono Helps Gay’s Win The Day

Bill Muehlenberg of Culture Watch is one Christian who isn’t standing up for Bono.  And he isn’t concerned about issuing a warning either.  Muehlenberg came out swinging after Bono threw his support to Bible torturing radical gay activists who were out to legalize same-sex “marriage” in Ireland.  Homosexuals were ecstatic to have a rock star behind them in their effort to legalize same-sex “marriage.”  Pink News reported:

Irish singer Bono, speaking ahead of the band’s latest world tour, said “Marriage is an idea that transcends religion.”

Bono, who is from a mixed Anglican and Catholic family, told the Irish Times:

“[Marriage] is owned by the people. They can decide. It is not a religious institution.

“As far as I know, Jesus wasn’t a married man and neither are most priests talking about it. It is not a religious idea.

“In my mind, commitment is one of the most impossibly great human traits. It is a hard thing to hold on to, and anything that brings that together is a totally wonderful thing.”

Gay-affirming Bono does not understand the implications of tossing aside God’s plan for marriage—one man one woman for life—so that men can marry men.

Muehlenberg had these harsh words for U2’s front man:

Another clear-cut acid test of Christian commitment has to do with the issue of homosexuality. If you get someone trying to tell you that homosexual marriage is just peachy and Jesus would be fully supportive of it, then you know you’ve got a religious fraud on your hands, and you should give him a very wide berth.

One so-called believer who has worried me greatly for years has in my eyes nailed his coffin completely by his recent support of sodomite marriage. Bono and U2 are going utterly brain-dead in supporting the Irish vote on homosexual marriage.

So if you think Bono is some sort of great Christian, you better think again. This comes from the U2 website:

On Friday Ireland votes in an historic referendum on legalizing same-sex marriage. Here’s what the band say: #voteYes.

“Commitment, love and devotion are some of the most impossibly great human traits. Trying to co-opt the word marriage is like trying to make love or devotion gender- or religion-specific. And that has to stop. Marriage is human-specific: a human commitment, one that transcends religion, transcends politics. It should be encouraged wherever, whenever and between whomever that love, that devotion and that commitment exists. #voteYES”

This has got to be one of the most idiotic things I have read in a long time. We expect atheists and militant homosexual activists to come up with sheer baloney like this, but someone who calls himself a Christian? This man is a fool, in the biblical sense of the word. (Source)

The bottom line is this: A person cannot profess a belief in Jesus Christ and live like the devil.  Like so many so-called Christians, Bono takes Christianity cafeteria style – he picks and chooses what pleases him and avoids what doesn’t.

Christianity is serious business, brethren.  Jesus requires much of His sheep.  “If you love me you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15).

Do you love Him?

“Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).

Do you get your guidance from the Bible?

Bono does but only when it suits his purpose.

Power and Destiny

June 14, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

The Source and the Effect…

Power is a key element in the function of a culture. Its source and the way it is used or controlled determine success or failure.

I am not opposed to scientific advancement or to the comfort and efficiency mechanical and technical minds have provided to humanity.  However, I am opposed to the deification of science and reason to the detriment of the peace and prosperity of the earth’s population.

We are born of woman but ultimately our physical bodies return to the earth as dust.  We are tied to the earth for food and water and for the resources we use to create marvelous mechanical and technical devices.  Seeds produce plants and plants sustain both human and animal life.  Without food and water everything would die – humans, animals, plants, and insects.

Designed to rule the earth and all lower forms of life, we are equipped to find water, produce food and reproduce ourselves.  Our minds are capable of creating a proper government over the creation. However, we have a defect that prevents us from properly administering dominion.  Instead of accepting the reality that we are created beings made to live under the authority of our Creator we choose to use our godlike qualities in a quest for unaccountable individual control.  We seek to be like God exerting unauthorized power over ourselves and others.  This defect is the cause of murder, mayhem, and tyranny rather than justice and peace.

We arrived into a world already in existence and a society developed by previous tenants.  Helpless at birth we were fed and nurtured into childhood and on until we are able to care for ourselves. Rather than being humbly thankful for the gift of life we often rebel against source of life and act as if we are beholden to nothing and our existence authorizes us to bring power over it all.

Because we have refused to live under the authority of our Creator, who is our legitimate sovereign, we have allowed power to flow to the state which has now become our sovereign and is accruing absolute power.  We are unwilling to live under the rule of the One True God preferring the rule of our fellows whose evil dominion will begin to teach us the true nature of our fellow human beings.

Through several thousand years of human history the world population has been relatively small and our home on the earth was taken for granted.  Now that the world population has grown exponentially we are beginning to be concerned about its ability to sustain us.  We are even beginning to think we have outgrown our birthplace and must seek additional living quarters elsewhere in the universe.

The Industrial Revolution removed most of us from our land and employed us as cogs in the mass production of products that provide comfort and leisure.   Instead of working to supply food for our families on our own land we sold our land and moved to cities where we traded the independence and pride of ownership for easier work and leisure.

We now work for money instead of food and are subject to the manipulation of the value of the money and the availability of work itself.  Our destiny is in the hands of massive corporations that want to use us as units of production but do not want to know us or care about our welfare.  Children, welcomed as assets in the agrarian society, are now liabilities and our culture is no longer producing babies in quantities that replace the dead putting its continued existence in jeopardy.

Under the auspices of science with no consideration for the ancillary results we have delved into subjects that may be outside our permissions.  We are using our finite minds to tinker with the basic units of life hoping to affect the qualities of the embryo by modifying the DNA that controls it.  Others of us are working at producing robots that can act as human beings by making independent decisions and carrying them out.

As demography warns us that we are in danger of becoming a minority population in a land we and our ancestors founded and developed we ignore the warning, fail to make adjustments, and continue to support small families, abortion, and same sex unions

We are created beings constructed for obedience and humility.   Contrived, illogical theories of evolution provide the arrogance of autonomy and we begin to act like gods.  All humility evaporates and we begin to fight for control over our fellow human beings.   We, to whom life was a gift, who had nothing to do with our existence, seek to act as sovereign lords with the right to determine right and wrong and to live as kings in gifted space.

“Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before stumbling.  It is better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.”  (Prov. 16:18)  American exceptionalism and national pride have run its course and a stumble is imminent.

Paul Craig Roberts   points out that the boasting about winning WWII is not only impolite but totally wrong.  Russia through tremendous sacrifice of lives and property defeated Germany and Eisenhower invaded Europe after the war had been won.  Roberts claims the U. S. has not won a war since defeating the Japanese and that was more a technical achievement than a military victory. .

Pastor Chuck Baldwin   says that America has been a captive nation for more than a Century; controlled by a cabal of foreign bankers whose identity cannot be verified.  The Federal Reserve removed control of the nation from the people allowing bankers to control our government through manipulation of elections.  No one can win an election to a Federal Government position without supporting neo-Israel.  The neocons have gained enough power over policies to force the American people to finance their wars and their quest for world domination.

The United States of America is indeed a puppet nation inhabited by an insouciant people that are too lazy and gullible to discern reality and fight for righteousness.  While our people have been busy with their jobs and the enjoyment of a hedonistic lifestyle the basic unit of civilization has been dismantled and replaced by unreasonable and unnatural arrangements ineptly described as families; two men are a family, two women are a family, a woman and a child are a family, and a man and a child are a family – an individual and a dog may soon qualify. The conventional family composed of a married man and woman with children has been arbitrarily dismantled by powerful individuals who seek to certify deviant lifestyles.

“America and the World” is a 2008 book containing an interview with Zbigniew Brzezinski and Brent Scowcroft moderated by David Ignatious.  Brzezinski and Scowcroft have been long time advisers to U. S. presidents and other leaders.  On page 242 Brzezinski made this statement. “The president (George W. Bush) said in his latest State of the Union message that the defining character of the Twenty-First Century is going to be the struggle against terrorism.  This is an absurd statement – first of all it is 2008, so we still have 92 years to run.  To define the essence of this century so early on is premature.  What Brent and I are doing today is trying to grope our way towards a more complex and sophisticated definition of the challenges of the century, and to say how, in that context, an American national policy that combines power with principle Is the right response.”

Brzezinski and Scowcroft are globalists but they seem to cling to the old fashioned idea of adhering to principles.  On the following page Scowcroft says the when he was in graduate school the bible for students of international politics was a book by Hans Morgenthau entitled “Politics Among Nations”.  He describes the book this way: “international politics is a struggle for power and that power is the only thing that matters”.

In 2003 I wrote an article entitled “Judeo-Christian Decadence”  (Read it here) it describes the education of many of the Bush II advisors who studied under University of Chicago professor Leo Strauss  The Strauss philosophy lacked principles.  It was Machiavellian, elitist, deceptive, and esoteric.  Out of it came the Project for the New American Century (PNAC), a neocon document that recommended growing our armaments and sending our armed forces into the world to exert American hegemony.  It was enthusiastically accepted by the Bush II Administration and has continued to exert heavy influence on our foreign policy.  Read about it here.  (Note that current presidential candidate Jeb Bush was one of the authors.)

Writing about the cabal that is controlling our world is a conjecture at best but it appears that the recommendations of men like Brzezinski and Scowcroft have lost their influence being replaced by the brutal power and shrewd deception of the neocon cabal.

PNAC was the guiding light of the George W. Bush Administration.  It developed the War on Terror and the ruse that America was in danger from Middle Eastern Muslim nations.  Brzezinski called the idea “absurd”.

When the true ruler of the universe is ignored and individual sovereignty begins to create chaos power begins to flow to government.  When government becomes the sovereign the next step is a new world order.  To some a world order is an advancement that would stop war and bring peace.  To others it is considered a fulfillment of destiny for a superior group of people whose elite status entitles them to world hegemony.  This group of neocons whose power came to the fore during the Bush II Administration is in the process of destroying the United States of America by using it in their quest for world tyranny.

The new power brokers are not bound by principle.  Their conduct is both deceptive and cold blooded.  It is characterized by massive propaganda, outright lies, deception, cruel retaliation, and the use of power over law.  Their attempts to destroy the United States has had considerable success during the Twentieth Century and now that their hegemony is almost absolute they have accelerated their efforts during the decade and a half of the new era.

Efforts to bring the world order into existence peacefully using power and principle have been replaced by mass murder, lethal bombers, drones, and assassins.  With the traitorous help of our own elected representatives they have engaged us in an endless war against a nebulous enemy called “Terrorists”. By propagandizing the lie that we are in danger they have used our armies to invade nations that could never be a threat to United States creating death and chaos among hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.

Instituting unnecessary foreign wars and obligating the American people with massive debt without their approval can ultimately result in an aroused citizenry – even in an insouciant people. So the government has passed mountains of restrictive law that could remove all of our rights and bring on a grinding tyranny. . John Whitehead writes about it here.

Concentrations of power are dangerous.  During the late Middle Ages an accumulation of power in the Catholic Church produced a gross distortion of the character of the God it claimed to represent.  Murder, adultery, fornication, and conspiracy were evident in the hierarchy and cupidity resulted in a lucrative business in the sale of indulgences which not only distorted the essence of the Gospel but elevated an arrogant church into the sin of being like God.  Human beings in control of the church were offering forgiveness of sin in exchange for money.

Absolute power results in similar travesties whether vested in kings, in governments, churches, or private homes.  Those who exercise such power revert to the original sin of being like God.  They claim dominion over life and death and demand that their edicts are carried out under the threat of death.  The church had elevated itself into the wicked position of claiming its word was the Word of God.  To defy the church was heresy and heresy was punished with death.

The position of the Catholic Church during the middle ages was similar to that of the United States government under President Barak Obama. Our government seeks to prosecute Edward Snowden for revealing to the people a criminal invasion of the privacy of its citizens in defiance to the Fourth Amendment to our Constitution, the law of the land.  Just as the Catholic Church reserves the right to act as a god by forgiving sin, our government is claims the right to overrule our Constitution by blatant invasions of our privacy.   When exposed, evil being done under the cover of darkness bites like a rattlesnake!

The reformation began by publishing the Bible in languages that the people could understand and using it to preach the gospel and to point to the errors of Rome. In that era many people were blest to receive Biblical truths and began to follow a Reformed Christianity.

The Bible was purposely kept from the people allowing the Catholic Church to become humanistic without accountability.  It was access to the Bible that brought about the Reformation.  Reformers claimed the Word of God should govern the world – the Catholic Church claims that since it collated and put together the Bible, it is subject to the Church allowing the church to tinker with the Word of God..  Protestant Reformers believed.l the church should be subject to God and His Law along with all else.

Attempts to reform flagrant errors in the Catholic Church – errors both human and theological – resulted in charges of heresy and sentences of death.  There were similarities in the tyrannical governments of Stalin and Hitler.  Tyranny is a humanistic evil that echoes the Biblical record of the sin of Adam.  Instead of seeing themselves as created beings in need of the wisdom of the Creator men beguiled by the Devil see themselves as god and with the chaos and cruelty of Godlessness they produce murder and mayhem.

The Church refused to correct it errors and critics were burned at the stake. There is no Biblical support for Papal infallibility, for Baptismal conversion, for confessional forgiveness of sin, for worship and prayer to Mary or to any of the dead icons.  The original church of Jesus Christ continues as a sizeable world force but it is secular, a supporter of the world order, and promoter of heretical, humanistic theology.  Read here.

People who cling to sinful doctrines are often intellectually lazy and unwilling to join the perennial battle against evil by accepting the responsibility of supporting righteousness.  It is easier to maintain the status quo even if it is evil.

Tyranny is the destiny of nations that are too lazy to fight on the side of righteousness.

As right becomes wrong and good becomes bad, as the social structure of our once peaceful and prosperous nation is destroyed, and strife is purposely created, as the press promotes animosity between races and denigrates the basic religion of our nation,  as Hollywood desecrates morality and promotes violence, as our elected officials respond to illegitimate power and choose to believe the existence of ghostly dangers, as the generals who lead our armies accept fantasies and order them carried out, as laws are encoded that destroy our liberty and create a police state, as the legality of our Constitution is ignored, as we amass a debt that will enslave our children for generations, as our armies murder thousands of innocent civilians, as our churches become social clubs and fail to address immorality, as Satan dances gleefully in our nation’s capital our citizens go about their daily tasks as if nothing is amiss.  That is what Paul Craig Roberts means by “insouciant”.

Hard times are coming.  Death and destruction are hovering over us.  We are a rogue nation that has created the ire of a large portion of the world and we will reap what we have sown.  That is our destiny.  Our people have had access to the truth for decades but have preferred their intractable ignorance to the truth that could have set them free.  We have earned it, we deserve what is coming.

Absolute power is vested in God – legitimate human power is a derivative!

Better Gear Up For The 5 Major Changes Coming To The Church

May 31, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

What is the goal of the NAR loons leaders?  To transform society into the kingdom of God on earth.

John Burton has written a piece entitled “Ancient and Emerging: 5 Major Changes Coming to the Church.”  Before you get all excited, or maybe even concerned over those changes, you should know a bit more about Burton.  As it turns out he’s a “prophet in the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movement.   According to his blog, John Burton, he “has been developing and leading ministries for over 20 years and is a sought out teacher, prophetic messenger and revivalist. Burton has authored ten books, has appeared on Christian television and radio and directed one of the primary internships at the International House of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City.”

That Burton was associated with IHOP-KC could only mean that he has served under IHOP’s Pied Piper Mike Bickle.  I spent quite a bit of time researching Bickle for a piece I wrote and discovered his strong ties to the NAR or what some refer to as Dominionism.  Also identified was his involvement with the Kansas City Prophets (KCP).  According toPastor Ken Silva, the KCP:

brought grandiose claims that a ‘new breed’ of super prophets were beginning to arrive on planet earth who would change the world forever. These so-called prophets were a group of men that coalesced around a church known as the Kansas City Fellowship, pastored by Mike Bickle, that attracted a following of other likeminded churches in that region. (More on the KCP here)
It gets worse.  Mike Bickle believes that God speaks to him in an audible voice.  But here’s the kicker.  He has visited heaven – twice.  On one visit he told false teacher Bob Jones:

I stood in this room and it had…clouds, it was a room only maybe 20 by 20 or 30. It was a little room. It had clouds in the bottom, on the top and the walls…I stood there, I was at the Lord’s left hand, and I stood there, this was not a dream, this was as real as life here…I know it wasn’t a dream or a vision… (There’s more to the story  here)

I included Bickle’s background and a snippet of the tall tale he spun on his alleged visit to heaven to highlight the fact that he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

So here’s my question: why is John Burton proud of his association with a false prophet who’s the main man at IHOP-KC?  IHOP –KC is viewed by many mainstream scholars as a cult because it is a “false, unorthodox, extremist” sect of Christianity (dictionary.com).

On his blog Burton calls himself a “prophetic messenger and revivalist.” Revival?  What revival?  There’s no sign of any sort of “revival” in America or any place else (except an occult revival), so the “revival” the so-called prophet refers to is……where?

Before I get to the 5 major changes “Prophet” John B predicts, those of you who are unfamiliar with the nuts and bolts of the NAR should know what we’re dealing with. Over the years it has had many handles such as Kingdom Now; Latter Rain; Joel’s Army; Manifest Sons of God – they keep changing the name as if this will allow them to keep their heretical teachings hidden.
What is the goal of the NAR loons leaders?  To transform society into the kingdom of God on earth.

How do they hope to accomplish this lofty goal?  By taking control of various aspects of society.  (Here’s the plan)

Apologetics Index describes it as a:

dominionist movement which asserts that God is restoring the lost offices of church governance, namely the offices of Prophet and Apostle.

Leading figures in this seemingly loosely organized movement claim that these prophets and apostles alone have the power and authority to execute God’s plans and purposes on earth. They believe they are laying the foundation for a global church, governed by them.

They place a greater emphasis on dreams, visions and extra-biblical revelation than they do on the Bible, claiming that their revealed teachings and reported experiences (e.g. trips to heaven, face-to-face conversations with Jesus, visits by angels) can not be proven by the ‘old’ Scripture. (emphasis added )

So, keeping John Burton’s background in mind—especially the part about his affiliation with IHOP-KC– here’s what this so-called prophetic messenger revealed about the future:

I call this the ancient and emerging church. Ancient because it’s rooted in scripture; emerging because the biblical structure has been largely forsaken. What will this ancient and emerging church look like? Here’s just a small peek into a grand shift in the structure of the church:

1. Services will become more like prayer meetings. One of the greatest indictments on the church today is that prayer is not the driving force. Today, people tend to choose churches based on the appeal of the teaching and the worship instead of the fervency of prayer. If the church was a house of teaching, or a house of worship, that would make sense, but it’s not. The church is a house of prayer for all nations. Every person in the church will function as a burning intercessor and the services will be marked by this unified groan of fiery prayer.

2. Personal need will give way to personal mission. Today, churches are often more like organic, socially driven hospitals. People tend to use the church as a way to meet their personal needs instead of serving it as a minister of God. This is going to change. Of course, there will still be personal ministry and true needs will be addressed.

However, instead of the church functioning as a hospital, it will once again function as a mission-driven military. The mission will take precedence. The saints will be equipped for service, not for personal survival. In this ancient and emerging model, their will be MASH units that will take very good care of the wounded with the primary purpose of getting the soldier back into battle. Apostles will again lead with governmental authority and pastors will be seen as the main leader less and less as they focus more on shepherding and less on primary leadership.

3. Teaching will be minimized while instruction is emphasized. Teaching is mostly for personal edification while instruction is mostly for corporate assignments. Today, most churches focus on teaching principles of scripture, providing truths that will help Believers navigate through their lives and giving nuggets of biblical info. While there will still be important Bible teaching, apostolic instruction will emerge as a necessary new ministry.

There is enough Bible teaching online, on CDs, in books and on video to turn every one of us into personal spiritual giants. We need to take it upon ourselves to grow. What is lacking, however, is apostolic leaders, military commanders who give instruction and assignments to a ready army. Teaching is personal growth-based while instruction is a call to corporate action for the sake of mission fulfillment.

An example of apostolic instruction is this: The apostolic leader gives a corporate assignment for everybody in the church to fast for a week and then show up together to prayer walk through the city streets. It’s a corporate call to action versus biblical study. It’s mission focused versus personal growth focused. Personal growth will be largely our responsibility between services so we can be ready to respond to the corporate instruction where we will receive our assignments.

4. We will gather together most days of the week. The 24/7 church will again emerge as the church drives culture instead of reacting to culture. Cares of life will lose their power as we simplify our lives and put corporate prayer and mission ahead of most everything else.

This may be the most challenging change for Christians. Today, Sundays are the days to set aside for corporate worship while we give precedence to our ‘normal lives.’ In The Coming Church, the very reason we live will be to pray on fire together every day, receive apostolic assignments and then move out into our lives as kingdom ambassadors. It wouldn’t be surprising if a tithe of our time is what became the standard. Two to three hours a day, whether it’s in the morning, afternoon or evening, or even in the late night hours, will be given by every believer to praying on site together with others, ministering and giving ourselves to intercession-fueled kingdom ministry. Of course, much of what we have been giving ourselves to will have to be eliminated so we have the time necessary to devote.

5. Worship will be supernaturally driven. There is a new sound coming to worship, and it’s not simply a new style. There is a supernatural, otherworldly groan of intercessory worship that will explode out of the entire body as a new breed of trembling worship leaders lead the way into the shock and awe of the glory of God. We will no longer simply sit in a pew or stand with a raised hand while a familiar worship song is sung.

The prophetic, groaning sounds of Holy Spirit facilitated worship will make it normal to shake and fall to our faces as we cry Holy! The natural, logical sing-a-longs will be no more. We will have a hard time standing as God’s Shekinah and Kabod glory resides in his church. Worship teams will practice less and pray in the Spirit with tears in their eyes more.

Of course, this is an extremely limited glance into the many, many changes that are coming. I wanted to share this to provoke you to preparation. There is much that you and I enjoy in the church, or that is comfortable to us, that we will have to let go. Again, the coming church will be troubling and shocking, but it will result in the power and life that we have been crying out for.
God is about to answer that cry.

This is…..nauseating.  My head is spinning.  Seems the Church is in for some BIG changes, at least according to “Prophet” John B.  Notice that the changes he purports would empower a few and turn the rest of us into mere puppets.  Sound familiar?  The message he’s sending is that we mustn’t hold to God’s sacred Word as our final authority.  No.  We must abide in what those who are supposedly hearing from God tell us.  I mean, really?  Coming from someone with his decidedly unbiblical theology it’s pretty easy to figure out where this rubbish came from.

Hint: The Evil One

We are not to fear evil, brethren.  We are not to back away from it.  We are not to cower in the corner.  We are commanded to:

Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm Standtherefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.  In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;  and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,  praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,  and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel… Ephesians 6:10-19  (emphasis added)

I’ll close with this admonition: Stand against the schemes of the devil!

Scientific Neutrality, Biblical Deconstruction And Modernist Christians In A Man-Centered Universe

May 24, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 “…in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” Colossians 2:9

John 1:10 tells us that everything seen and unseen was created ex nihilo by the spoken Word of the Son of God, which means that Jesus Christ was active and present long before His incarnation, therefore eternally co-existent with the Father. (1) Jesus Christ is therefore God just as the Father and Holy Spirit are God, thus the Word of the Old Testament’s creation account is Jesus Christ of the New Testament.  Jesus Christ is the Word.   His Word is Truth even as He Himself is Truth, the same today as yesterday and for always.  Thus Jesus Christ does not change and as He is the starting point for the reasoning of the faithful, then  Christians must reject the neutrality principle and doubt, its’ ugly twin, the long unchallenged principles in evolutionary modernism’s longstanding war against the Word of God—the Book of Genesis in particular—in all its parts… historical, prophetical, geographical, linguistic, and doctrinal. (2)

When Paul affirms in the Lord that his Gentile readers should no longer live as Gentile pagans do in the futility of their darkened minds (Ephesians 4: 17-24), he speaks to all pagans from antiquity to our own age (i.e., neo-pagan modernists) who reject the pure knowledge of the Holy Trinity and vainly think of themselves as “enlightened” when in reality they are “en-darkened.”  Their ignorance is not a lack of education, and some of them are brilliant in their own way, but such brilliance is wasted on vain imaginings and wisdom of this world which will not get them to heaven, thus utterly foolish and futile, especially when combined with hardness of heart toward the truth of the gospel in Christ (Matt. 13:14-15; John 12:40; Acts 28: 26; Rom. 11:8)

“En-darkened” modernists claim scientific neutrality as a general operating assumption. Two applications of modernist thought evidence this:  evolution (anti-creation account/relentless change/relativism), an inverted exegesis that deconstructs and reduces man in the spiritual image of the Trinity to evolved ape, and deconstructionism (destructive criticism/critical theory). Along with evolution, deconstructionism is a form of relativism or nihilism that for more than eighty years has been spilling into and contaminating our moral and culture sustaining institutions from seminaries and Biblical scholarship to academia, law, media, arts, and politics, thence our minds, individually and collectively. (2)

The origin of the neutrality principle is the Garden of Eden. Its’ father is the Evil One who tempted Eve to approach the question of eating from the forbidden tree in a neutral, unbiased fashion.  He slyly suggested that she adopt a neutral position in order to decide who was right, God or the snake.   Like modernists of our own age Eve doubted and therefore rejected God’s Word as authoritative and conclusive.  As a true neutralist she determined for herself which choice to take. (Gen. 3:4-6)

Todays’ Christian Church and Western culture have for so long been saturated with evolutionary modernist claims of scientific neutrality paired with intellectual and moral autonomy that the ungodly neutrality principle which forbids the existence of immutable Truth and moral absolutes has been thoroughly ingrained in us. It is so constant and we are so accustomed to it that even within the church we fail to discern it.

Neutrality Principle, Deconstructionism & the Historical-Critical Method

For evolutionary modernists of both pagan and pantheist persuasion to choose to not believe the Word of God on an individual level is one thing.  But in the past few hundred years the world has been witnessing a strange yet consistent phenomenon:  institutionalized Biblical deconstructionism issuing in a concerted drive,

“…on an institutional level to rubbish the Scriptures altogether.  It is nothing new of course.  It’s just the scale of the enterprise which takes the breath away. And it’s not just international. It’s global.”  (The Authenticity of the Book of Genesis, Bill Cooper, p. 7)

The first Biblical deconstructionists—the ancient “fathers” of today’s Biblical deconstructionists—were various Gnostic pagans in the first centuries of the Christian era.

The methodology employed by the early Gnostic pagan Marcion for example, was to masquerade as a scholar concerned only for truth while really getting rid of everything he was offended by, especially the entire Old Testament which he deconstructed by reducing in its entirety to an unhistorical myth.   In a nutshell, this is the same method employed by modern Biblical deconstructionists.

Fourth-century Fathers such as John Chrysostom, Basil the Great and Ephraim the Syrian, all of whom wrote commentaries on Genesis, specifically warned against treating Genesis as an unhistorical myth or allegory. John Chrysostom strongly warned against paying heed to Gnostic heretics,

“…let us stop up our hearing against them, and let us believe the Divine Scripture, and following what is written in it, let us strive to preserve in our souls sound dogmas.” (Genesis, Creation, and Early Man, Fr. Seraphim Rose, p. 31)

As St. Cyril of Alexandria wrote, higher theological, spiritual meaning is founded upon humble, simple faith in the literal and historic elements of Genesis as Revealed by God and one cannot apprehend rightly the Scriptures without believing in the historical reality of the events and people they describe. (ibid, Seraphim Rose, p. 40)

Today it is commonplace for resuscitated Gnostic deconstructionism, otherwise known as the historical-critical method of Biblical scholarship, to be regarded as scientific, thus enlightened, neutral and objective.  Recent decades however, have witnessed a much needed rising awareness that the historical-critical method serves particular ends thus always arrives at certain conclusions.  In the meticulously researched work of intellectual history, “Politicizing the Bible,” Scott Hahn and Benjamin Wiker greatly add to this awareness by bringing to light the appropriation, deconstruction and paganization of scripture by politically motivated interpreters.

Shining a powerful light of truth on the techniques taken for granted at divinity schools worldwide, Hahn and Wiker trace the origins of the modern historical-critical method deep into the Middle Ages and the Renaissance “showing the deliberate Erastian project of subjecting the Bible and with it the Christian faith to the power of the State.” (4)

Through painstaking research Hahn and Wiker clearly demonstrate that the historical-critical method is grounded in the philosophy of Averroes, the writings of Machiavelli and Marsilio of Padua among others, together with the political projects of Henry VIII, Thomas Hobbes, and John Locke, and the quest for an empire of science on the part of Descartes and Spinoza.

The authors argue that nothing can be rightly understood about the historical-critical method and the politicization of Scripture if close attention is not paid to the great cosmological shift that occurred in the seventeenth century.  What the shift yielded was both a secular (anti-supernatural and wholly naturalistic or pagan) understanding of the universe, philosophy and scientific method and a secular-pagan understanding of man and politics:

The two occur as part of one revolution because the shift in the meaning of nature includes human nature as well.” (p. 257)

With respect to the work of modern scriptural scholars, the great shift means that in order to comprehend the assumptions and methods of their own craft they have to understand the history of the philosophy and science grounded in the cosmological shift.

As a synopsis of the monumental philosophical and scientific shift and its’ abominable effects on modern biblical scholarship and Christianity, Hahn and Wiker offer the following example from the highly influential nineteenth century scriptural scholar David Friedrich Strauss.  Strauss is almost invariably the first of the modern critiques studied in the typical survey course taken by students of Scripture in graduate school.   The key introductory chapter of Strauss’s “Life of Jesus Christ Critically Examined” is entitled “Development of the Mythical Point of View.”   In it Strauss declares,

“…matter-of-factly that an ‘account is not historical,’ and hence ‘the matter related could not have taken place in the manner described,’ wherein ‘the narration is irreconcilable with the known and universal laws which govern the course of events.   Now according to these laws, agreeing with all just philosophical conceptions and all credible experience, the absolute cause never disturbs the chain of secondary causes by single arbitrary actions of interposition.” (pp. 257-258)

In other words, miracles (i.e., creation ex nihilo, Christ’s Resurrection) cannot happen.  For Strauss, the exegetical assumption that miracles are fictions is based on naturalistic philosophical-scientific assumptions.

Underlying Strauss’s assumptions is an entirely naturalistic (secular-pagan), self-generating machine-like cosmos, a mathematical-mechanical view of the evolving universe, an idol of defiant, rebellious mans’ mind in continual antagonism to the supernatural Judeo-Christian cosmology.

It was Descartes, Hobbes, and Spinoza who redefined nature so that it was ontologically mathematical and mechanical, thereby paving the way for the universe to be entirely law-governed, self-contained (closed to the supernatural), self-sustaining, mechanical and evolutionary.  This view necessitated that the active, living, creating, and redeeming Holy God of Old and New Testament be redefined as a deistic god that created matter, mechanical mechanisms and formative evolutionary processes that over time allows things to make themselves,  or a divine evolutionary force (pantheism) within nature, or be simply rejected by the more radical of the radical Enlightenment. (pp. 272-273 &544)

In the “new pagan” god-man centered cosmology, the gap between the Mind of God and the mind of man, and the supernatural and natural were closed.  Thereafter, the exalted mind of the god-man and the content of the mathematical-mechanical universe defined what method was appropriate to its illumination:

If the universe is fundamentally mathematical and mechanical, then of course the method of illumination must be mathematical and mechanical. ” (p. 545)

In the god- man centered universe, the redefined God’s wisdom does not exceed man’s wisdom.  This being so, Unitarianism, liberal Protestant theology, Roman Catholic Teilhardism, evolutionary theism, Hugh Ross’s vastly popular progressive creationism, and all other forms of evolutionary Christianity as well as New Age pantheism are the products of the exalted wisdom of god-men who adopted a man-centered universe entirely in accord with their own capacities.

The approach to the Word of God followed suit, meaning that an evolutionary modernist understanding completely defines the ‘new’ approach to the interpretative deconstruction of the Bible:

Since miracles had been excised from nature, they had to be removed from the text.  Since nature was entirely defined by mathematics, knowledge of mathematical-mechanical laws displaced prophecy, and so prophecy had to be removed from the text.  In fact, since there was, with pantheism, assumed to be an identity of the logos of nature with the Logos of God, scientists who studied the logos of nature provided the highest revelation possible, thereby demoting the revelation contained in the Bible as at best puerile.  All that was left, so it seemed, was the moral message of the text, and the focus on the Bible as merely moral reinforced its politicization.” (p. 544)

All that is left is a desacralized book of moral messages for evolutionary modernist Christian theologians and intellectuals such as columnist Ross Douthat, leading Richard Dawkins to ridicule him for bracketing “Biblical fundamentalists” with atheists and accusing both of making the same mistake,

“…of thinking that the correct way to read the Bible is literally, as do Ken Ham or Al Mohler.” (Ross Douthat doesn’t understand atheism, Richard Dawkins, Oct. 5, 2011,whyevolutionistrue.com)

Douthat criticizes New Atheism said Dawkins, for thinking that we go after only the fundamentalist version of religion while “ignoring the sophisticated versions propounded by sophisticated theologians like John Haught and sophisticated intellectuals like himself” who see much of the Bible, particularly the Genesis account as metaphor.  Douthat makes this clear in a New York Times article:

“It was a peculiar spectacle, to put it mildly: An atheist [Coyne] attacking a traditionalist believer [Shea] for not reading Genesis literally. On the merits, Coyne is of course quite correct that some of the details of the Genesis story seem to contradict what science and archaeology suggest about human origins. (For instance, the claim that Adam and Eve were formed from the dust of the ground and a human rib, respectively, not from millennia upon millennia of evolution, the suggestion that they lived in a garden near the Tigris and the Euphrates, not a hunter-gatherer community in Africa, and  well, you get the idea.) But then again some of the details of the Genesis story seem to contradict one another as well, in ways that should inspire even a reader who knows nothing about the controversies surrounding evolution to suspect that what he’s reading isn’t intended as a literal and complete natural history of the human race.” (Why Atheists Need Fundamentalists, Douthat, Oct. 4, 2011, New York Times)

Dawkins zeros in on the contradictions in Douthats’ argument, pointing out that if Ken Ham, Dr. Albert Mohler, and other faithful believers, or ‘fundamentalists’ as Douthat labels them did not take the,

“…stories pretty literally, including the tales of Noah and the flood, the Genesis stories, the tale of Adam and Eve and their Original Sin, and, of course, the whole Jesus mythology (then)we’d have no creationism in America, and the story of Jesus would be a convenient fairy tale, like that of Santa Claus, rather than an object of universal veneration.” (ibid)

Exposing Douthats’ double-mindedness, Dawkins argues that while much of the Bible is dismissively relegated to the category of fanciful metaphor by Douthat,

I’m sure that when he goes to Mass each week he recites the Nicene Creed, affirming his belief in these truths : ” Jesus is the son of God – God is the creator of heaven and earth – Jesus was the product of a virgin birth – The crucified Jesus was resurrected – Jesus will come again to judge us all – Our sins will be remitted through baptism – There’s an afterlife for the good folks.”

Dawkins then asks,

Tell me, Mr. Douthat: are those allegories, too? When you mouth them in Church each week, are you saying what you really believe? If not, why do you call yourself a Catholic?” (ibid)

Douthats’ embarrassing peccadillo exemplifies that of increasing numbers of modernist theologians, intellectuals and Christians throughout the whole body of the church who waver between serving the Lord and serving Baal:

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.”  1 Kings 18:21

In 1 Thess. 2:13 the Apostle Paul summarizes and clarifies the issue at hand, which is whether the Revealed Word of God is received by the Christian Church as the word of “enlightened” men or “for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.”

Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge?….Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?  Tell me, if you understand.”  Job 38: 2-4

Dear reader, who do you place your faith in?   Is it in pride-inflated foolish modernists who with their scissors have cut apart the Bible and with their words without knowledge and vain pretensions set themselves up against the knowledge of our Lord?  They are the blind leading the blind into hell. Or is it in the Lord Whose Word is Truth, even as He Himself is Truth, our Lord and Savior Who,

“….if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved?”  Romans 10:9

The Politics of Poneros, The Sons of Belial, Macrosocial Evil, Persecution and Martyrdom

May 9, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

Political Ponerology” is the name given by Polish psychiatrist Andrzej M. Łobaczewski to an interdisciplinary study of the founders (i.e., Karl Marx) and supporters of 20th century totalitarian political regimes. His study utilizes data from psychology, sociology, philosophy, and history to account for the propagation of man’s inhumanity to man through such phenomena as terrorism, aggressive war, ethnic cleansing, ostracism, genocide, and despotism:

As many as 7 million Ukrainians were starved in Soviet Socialist dictator Joseph Stalin’s artificial, forced famine in Ukraine in 1932 and 1933. This is approximately the total population of Manitoba, Newfoundland, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.” (Inky Mark, M. P. Dauphin – Swan River House of Commons 2 June 1998, Famine-Genocide in Ukraine 1932-1933)

Moscow employed the famine as a political weapon against the Ukrainians in the years 1932-1933. The famine was in its entirety artificially induced and organized.” (ibid, Investigation of Communist Takeover and Occupation of the Non-Russian Nations of the U.S.S.R p. 35)

“… On one side, millions of starving peasants, their bodies often swollen from lack of food; on the other, soldiers, members of the GPU carrying out the instructions of the dictatorship of the proletariat. They had gone over the country like a swarm of locusts and taken away everything edible; they had shot or exiled thousands of peasants, sometimes whole villages; they had reduced some of the most fertile land in the world to a melancholy desert.” (ibid, Malcolm Muggeridge, “War on the Peasants,” Fortnightly Review, 1 May, 1933)

Food is a weapon.” (ibid, Maxim Litvinov – Soviet Commissar of Foreign Affairs)

According to the authors of “The Black Book of Communism,” Communist and Socialist regimes did not just commit criminal acts but were criminal enterprises in their very essence:

“…all ruled lawlessly and without regard for human life (and) one particular feature of many Communist regimes (was) their use of famine as a weapon. The Bolsheviks had decided to eliminate…any challenge or resistance, even if passive, to their absolute power. This strategy applied not only to groups with opposing political views, but also to such social groups as the nobility, the middle class, the intelligentsia…the clergy…military officers and the police.” (pp. xvii, 8-9)

A coalition of atheist pagan Jews (Bolsheviks) and atheist pagan Gentiles (Marxist Communists) systematically stole the personal property of Russians and sexually perverted their children and conditioned them to hate the Trinity, Jesus Christ God Incarnate in particular, as well as their own parents, the Christian church and their homeland.  The sons of Belial undermined and destroyed the traditional family, unleashed a holocaust of abortion, homosexualized culture, desecrated and blasphemed churches, crucified thousands of nuns and priests and in general, committed monstrous crimes against humanity which took the lives of more than sixty-million men, women, and children. For example:

About 200,000 clergy, many crucified, scalped and otherwise tortured, were killed during the approximately 60 years of communist rule in the former Soviet Union, a Russian commission reported this week. In addition, another 500,000 religious figures were persecuted and 40,000 churches destroyed in the period from 1922 to 1980, the report said. Half the country’s mosques and more than half the synagogues were also destroyed” Clergymen were crucified on churches’ holy gates, shot, scalped [and] strangled,” said Alexander Yakovlev, head of the Commission for the Rehabilitation of the Victims of Political Repression. The commission prepared the report for Russian President Boris Yeltsin. “I was especially shocked by accounts of priests turned into columns of ice in winter,” Yakovlev said. “It was total cruelty.” (paulbogdanor.com)

Persecution and martyrdom of Christians under 20th century totalitarianism–mainly of Russian Orthodox Christians under Bolshevism–is by far the greatest crime in all of recorded history….Attempts at “killing the soul” started only months after the Revolution of 1917.” Persecution and martyrdom was, “several times greater than the Holocaust in terms of innocent lives brutally destroyed.   It has killed more Christians in a few decades than all other causes put together in all ages, with Islam a distant second as the cause of their death and suffering. And yet it still remains a largely unknown, often minimized, or scandalously glossed over crime.” (New Martyrs of the East and Coming Trials in the West, Srdja Trifkovic, OrthodoxyToday.com)

In this light we can understand why Lobaczewskis’ original manuscript quickly went into the furnace just minutes before a secret police raid.  In 1984 the manuscript was reassembled, but according to Lobaczewski, its publication was blocked by technocratic globalist Zbigniew Brzezinski.  After half a century of suppression it is finally available.

Though Lobaczewski’s study is a clinically accurate description of the nature of human evil it falls into the error of attributing evil to biological causes rather than the sin nature of man.   Despite this failing, Political Ponerology is a shocking account of large scale evil super-heated by hatred of the Holy God and burning with envy and will to power—or what Lobaczewski terms ‘ponerogenic processes’  that overtook modern Russia and have overtaken whole societies and nations since time immemorial.

When ponerogenic processes have finally saturated a society’s entire ruling class and opposition from morally convicted people has been crushed, then we are dealing with what Lobaczewski calls Macrosocial Evil or a “macrosocial ponerologic phenomenon.” (p. 121)

Ponerogenic processes are synonymous with the unfettered, vastly inflamed sin nature of man beginning with inflated pride issuing in covetousness, selfishness, ingratitude, jealousy, resentment and hate, all of which early Church Fathers combined into the cold-blooded vice known as envy.   Thus when ‘macrosocial ponerologic phenomenon’ has saturated a nation’s ruling class and most of its society it means that a tyranny of evil fueled by poneros has overtaken it.   Poneros is:

The passion which causes evil, the father of death, the first entrance for sin, the root of wickedness, the birth of sorrow, the mother of misfortune, the basis of disobedience, the beginning of shame. Envy

banishes us from paradise….Envy made Joseph a slave. Envy is the death-dealing sting, the hidden weapon, the sickness of nature, the bitter poison, the self-willed emaciation, the bitter dart, the nail of the soul, the fire in the heart, the flame burning on the inside…” (Life of Moses, Gregory of Nyssa, quoted in Death by Envy, Fr. George R.A. Aquaro, p. 74)

“Scripture combines envy with jealousy, covetousness and stinginess, into a single concept that is a manifestation of idolatry (narcissism) of self and belief that there is a limited supply of good.” (ibid)

Scripture attributes poneros to the Evil One, the leader of all forces of evil.   The Evil One is the spirit of rebellion and negation, the father of lies, “the adversary” “the accuser,”  “calumniator” and undiluted essence of envy who works through the principle of negation and rebellion in the fallen souls of lawless natural men:

“The evil man out of his evil treasure bringeth forth evil (poneros) things” Matthew 12:35

Poneros  has played a part in human dynamics ever since the Evil One persuaded the envy-bitten Cain to murder his brother Abel, Judas to betray Jesus Christ and the Pharisees to crucify Him, and Saul to suddenly throw his spear at David in a murderous attempt at pinning him to a wall. (1 Sam. 18:11)  In fact, the envy-bitten Saul tried three times to kill David with a javelin (1 Sam. 18:10-11, 19: 9-10) and to bring about David’s death by the Philistines. (1 Sam. 18:25)

Poneros is also the spirit animating British philosopher Adam Smith’s sophistry, that is, his phony concern postured in sophisticated questions and ‘evidence’ such as,

Is having a loving family an unfair advantage?”  “Should parents snuggling up for one last story before lights out be even a little concerned about the advantage they might be conferring?”

Evidence shows that the difference between those who get bedtime stories and those who don’t – the difference in their life chances – is bigger than the difference between those who get elite private schooling and those that don’t.” (Parents reading to kids blasted as ‘unfair,’ Joe Kovacs, WND, May, 2015)

Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. captures the spirit of poneros in his brilliantly conceived short story, “Harrison Bergeron,”

THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren’t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General.”

As a tyranny of poneros had overtaken and led to the degradation and implosion of ancient Greek society, an exploration of Greek thought with regard to types of envy will prove enlightening. The first type is ‘zelos,’ a kind of envy stirred up by any perceived superiority (inequality).  In the poem, ‘Work and Days,’ Isocrates presents the spirit of zelos as “with grim face and screaming voice, who delights in evil” and causes Decency and Respect to flee. (1)  The anonymous author “Michael Swift” warns of this very thing in a widely circulated article called “Gay Revolutionary.”  In prose that chills the spine Swift warns the envied straight community that the men of Sodom shall be victorious,

“..because we are filled with the ferocious bitterness of the oppressed who have been forced to play seemingly bit parts in your dumb, heterosexual shows throughout the ages…We too are capable of firing guns and manning barricades of the ultimate revolution….Tremble, hetero swine, when we appear before you without our masks.”  (Spirit Wars: Pagan Revival in Christian America, Peter Jones, p. 255)

Empowered by spineless, accommodating jellies throughout our seminaries, pulpits, government and courts, the envy-bitten men and women of modern Sodom maliciously terrorize Christian bakers, florists, bed and breakfast owners and other decent, law-abiding straight males and females, forcing them to either submit or be crushed even as the men of Sodom openly rape the souls and bodies of their sons and daughters in churches, schools, and elsewhere. (Envy and the Greeks: A Study of Human Behavior, Peter Walcot, pp. 2-3 from Death by Envy, Fr. George R. A. Aquaro, p. 12)

As the Holy Triune God is the “moral monster” responsible for the poor choices, weaknesses, sin nature and failures of the self-pitying, self-absorbed and envy-bitten, zelos is also the spirit behind the ‘murder’ of the Christian God, the closing off of the supernatural dimension and the Way to Paradise with the requisite suppression of His Revelation to man, the miracle of Special Creation, Original Sin, Moral Law, immutable Truth, judgment, and hell. Thus zelos is the lying, hateful, intolerant spirit behind the elevation of evolutionary scientism above the inerrant Word of God.

Zelos animates back-stabbing gossip, slander, snooping, spying, tale-bearing, the politics of personal destruction as well as special rights and privileges for the so-called oppressed (envy-bitten).  Zelos demands redistribution of wealth, egalitarian sameness issuing in loss of gender identity (i.e., mother, father, husband, wife) in favor of gender-neutral terms such as ‘partner.’ It demands same-sex marriage, absolute inclusion and tolerance, ‘legalized’ illegal immigration, the mandated sexualization and perversion of our youth by pan-sexual and omni-gendered sexologists, and a hob-nailed boot viciously crushing the faces of envied “oppressors.”

Morally, zelos is the venom behind America’s reigning Pharisaic legalism: political correctness, hate crime laws, speech codes, gender equality, economic equality, and sensitivity training.  In ‘political’ terms, green-eyed zelos is the spirit of green multiculturalism, green ecology, green sustainability, green ‘family planning,’ green global warming/cooling/change, green socialism and green diversity.

In “Diversity': The Idol of Academia,” Jack Kerwick describes diversity as a ‘god’ that is as educationally invidious as it is false:

Diversity” is not just a good in the academic world. It is the supreme good, the one good before which all other considerations must yield….”cultural diversity” not only doesn’t correspond to a rise in intellectual diversity; it invariably corresponds to a rise in political uniformity. This is crucial, for the promotion of “cultural diversity” is nothing more or less than the promotion of a left-wing ideological agenda.”  (June 26, 2014 Jack Kerwick, Front Page Magazine)

Zelos in its every malignant, sadistic permutation is the green-eyed spirit behind left-wing ideology and its’ totalitarian fantasy:

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” (Winston Churchill, British orator, author and Prime Minister during World War II, 1874-1965)

“When I say that Marxism is based on envy, I mean that the glorious revolution of the proletariat…was really a promise to put a final end to all the conditions that make for envy.” (Joseph Epstein, author and former editor of The American Scholar, from Truths about Socialism, Coral Ridge Ministries, p. 66)

After zelos come philotimia and hybris.   In Greek mythology, philotimia is narcissism–love of self, love of attention, love of self-affirmation, love of self-gratification– while hybris is the arrogance, insolence, contempt, insult, shame, hatred and mistreatment of human objects of envy by a sadistic narcissist. In Greece, philotemia and hybris were on display when the gods and their earthly counterparts punished inferior ‘subhumans’ for usurping their authority as well as when they struggled amongst themselves for positions of primacy.   In America, philotimia and hybris are visible when America’s left-right ‘ruling class’ god-men try to destroy each other in their vicious power struggles among themselves. These two green-eyed monsters, philotemia/hybris are on display whenever the god-men’s lapdog media engage in vicious psychological bullying and other malicious forms of mistreatment of stupid, unevolved hominids –the hard-working middle class, especially the Tea Party and God-fearing orthodox Christians and faithful Jews—the so-called oppressors.

Philotimia/hybris is also the spirit animating the intolerant, hateful attitudes of evolutionary theologians toward defenders of the Revealed Word of God beginning with the Genesis account of creation ex nihilo.

Phthonos is the fourth type of envy/covetousness.  Phthonos seeks to deprive envied ‘other’ of possessions, honor, status, spiritual gifts and virtues.  Phthonos for example, is the diabolical Darwinian reductionism of man in his Creator’s spiritual image to ape.  It is the green-eyed totalitarian spirit of Agenda 21 together with save the earth and re-wilding schemes that elevate crocodiles, trash fish, and other creatures above the welfare of human beings. Phthonos animates carbon footprint schemes, population control plans, passive euthanasia (refusal of health care to targeted Obama care recipients), the attempted theft of Bundy’s ranch and other private property and resources.  Phthonos is driven not just to ostracize and confiscate but to use psychological manipulation (i.e., lies, false guilt, slander, propaganda, scape-goating) and other terroristic force to take or deprive ‘other’ of whatever is coveted/envied.

Phthonos will even drive a man (i.e., Cain) to murder his own brother, to “murder” the Holy God (i.e., Nimrod, Karl Marx) and Jesus Christ God Incarnate (Nietzsche).

After ancient Greece had been overtaken by the spirit of poneros, the egalitarian, collectivist, or leveling impulse served to help relieve an envy-torn culture by leveling all men down to the lowest common denominator.  This was enforced by character destruction and the threat of ostracism.

“…one had to watch not only the malevolent actions of envious friends and enemies, but the very real threat of ostracism by the democratic community.  Philanthropy had much less to do with (love of man) as it had with….avoiding other people’s phthonos of one’s success.”  (Death by Envy, p. 14)

The fifth type of envy is vaskonia or Evil Eye (ophthalmos poneros) and means something even more malignant than phthonos.    Vaskonia bespeaks an evil spirit associated with demonic possession and the malign touch or glance of which leaves a soiled imprint and implies instant victimization and death.   Vaskonia is inherently sudden, meaning one wrong word, one wrong expression, or the impulse of a moment is all it takes to become the victim of the Evil Eye.

As a whole, Scripture combines envy with hatred of the Holy God and one’s brother, which means that there can be no love whatsoever where there is envy and hatred in one’s heart.

Today increasing numbers of Americans at every level of society, on both left and right, Christian and secular, are controlled by their passions unfettered from the restraint of transcendent moral law.   Adding to the problem are culturally relevant church models attended by thousands of Americans that cater to felt-needs and self-indulgent emotional feel-goodism (2 Tim. 4: 1-220).  Thus America is “a nation ruled by its passions,” said Reb Bradley, author of “Born Liberal Raised Right.”  This is why  heinous acts,

“…of casual disregard for life, unheard of fifty years ago, have become a familiar item on the evening news; students killing classmates, children murdering their playmates….these gruesome crimes are merely symptomatic of a breakdown of moral fiber…”  ( pp. 2-3)

The most frightening aspect of America’s descent into moral imbecility, narcissism, heresy, apostasy, pathological lying, and lawlessness is that our society is being overtaken by “ponerological processes.”   Through the White House, State Department and other federal agencies, legislatures, media, Hollywood, courts, academia, pentagon, seminaries and even pulpits, the spirit of poneros is encompassing our society, suppressing and demonizing orthodox Christians, faithful Jews and other morally informed people, and overspreading our nation with a “macrosocial ponerologic phenomenon.”  This will lead inevitably to a tyranny of evil, persecution and martyrdom:

The New Martyrs’ example and their legacy is precious, because in this, 21st century, it will be the turn of Western Christians to experience martyrdom. In Western Europe they will be persecuted by the unholy alliance between the postmodern, Christophobic velvet totalitarianism of the therapeutic hyper-state, and a resurgent Islam which already accounts for a quarter of all newborns in France. In the United States they will be persecuted for refusing to accept the destruction of the moral foundation of the society, currently epitomized by abortion, by “gay marriage,” and by the ever-expanding speech and thought codes. Instead of being thrown to the lions or sent to Siberia, the resisters will be subjected–by some monstrous mechanism devised by an ever more activist judiciary–to the mandatory “sexual diversity orientation sessions,” or feminist-led pro-abortionist “right-to-choose education workshops,” or “immigrant rights sensitivity training,” after which the continuing refusal to recant will lead to compulsory “therapy” and forced medication. This scenario is not farfetched on either side of the Atlantic. Western Christians should be prepared for martyrdom.”  (ibid, Srdja Trifkovic)
Judgment

In “Idols for Destruction” Herbert Schlossberg proposes that we use idolatry as a framework for comprehension of the evil and persecution sweeping over and through our post-Christian society. (p. 34)   The biblical explanation for moral imbecility and narcissism in connection with the end of society resides in the concept of judgment upon an idolatrous people (Ro. 1:28-32):

Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you…saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known…”   (Deut. 13: 13; Judges 19: 22, 20:13; 1 Sam. 1:16, 2:12, 10:27, 25:17, 25:25, 30:22; 2 Sam. 16:7, 20:1, 23:6; 1 Kings 21:10, 21:13; 2 Chron. 6:15, 13:7)

Scripture depicts a societies’ people as either having submitted themselves to the Triune God or else as idolaters (sons of Belial) who having rebelled against Him have been delivered by Him over to worthless, useless, hardened, loveless minds.  This is how the Old Testament portrays Israel.  Israel had become an evil nation of idolaters fully deserving the judgment the Lord brought against it.  Its’ rebellion was accompanied by a turning to idols (which can also be idols of mind such as scientism and evolutionary cosmogonies) and this idolatry brought the nation to it’s’ end.

The Decalogue shows that the beginning of idolatry is pride (preference for self over the Holy Trinity and neighbor). The will of the proud man is not in submission to the Trinity but self, thus having made an idol out of himself he assumes he possesses honor and rights. This is why pride leads to contempt for truth, law, wisdom, norms, authority, standards, rules, institutions and other people in combination with any or all of the following vices: pathological lying, treachery, murderous thoughts, gluttony, greed, covetousness, lust, hate, cheating, promiscuity, sadism, sodomy, pederasty, pedophilia, adultery, theft and the dehumanization of other people resulting in psychological and physical slavery, population control schemes, abortion, brutality, terror, mass-murder (genocide) and man-made famines.

In the final analysis, malice and envy towards the Holy Trinity compels man to destroy creation and to annihilate his God-given soul/spirit by imagining himself as ‘one’ with the evolving universe of matter and energy. This is the definition of damnation, said Fr. Aquaro. Hell is not a punishment meted out by a hateful Holy God as some would think, but an absolute refusal of a pardon granted all mankind. It is impossible to receive good from a person one envies, and so it is that one cannot be saved if one resents the Holy Triune God. This is the message of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32 when the elder brother refused to enter the house upon his brother’s return. It is also the underlying meaning of CS Lewis’s pointed observation that the door to hell will be slammed and locked from inside:

“The man wakes from the final struggle of death, in absolute loneliness…Not a hint, not a shadow of anything outside his consciousness reaches him…Soon misery will beget on his imagination a thousand shapes of woe, which he will not be able to rule, direct, or even distinguish from real presences.” (C.S. Lewis: George MacDonald, an Anthology, p. 61)

Liberalism’s Warm Fuzzy God

May 9, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

For a number of years a woman I know, I’ll call her Rachel, has wrestled with giving her life to Christ.  She admits she really wants to, but how can she when she’d have to serve a God who allows murderers into heaven and sends “good people” to hell?  It would be awkward to have to explain to her husband, family and friends that they’re bound for hell if they reject Christ.  In other words, Rachel won’t play by God’s rules because His rules make her uncomfortable.  In her way of thinking the God of the Bible is too punitive for her sensibilities.  And besides, what kind of God would allow a serial murderer into heaven who professed a belief in Christ only minutes before going to the gas chamber while at the same time condemn “good people” to hell for their unbelief?

Liberals like Rachel require a more palatable religion, one that’s all-inclusive and, of course, fair.  They desire a warm fuzzy God.  The liberal’s ideal God is a sort of jolly ol’ St. Nick figure.  The liberal’s jolly ol’ god has a Naughty and Nice list but his heart is so big that he often overlooks naughty children’s indiscretions (even the ones who are unrepentant) and delivers the goods to them anyway. He’d be unloving if he didn’t bend a little.

Rachel has yet to place her faith in Christ because it’s unthinkable that God would send “good people” to hell.  Her major stumbling block is that she’s acquainted with a number of “good people” who aren’t Christians — and are a whole lot nicer than some Christians she knows.

Rachel contends that a just God wouldn’t send nice folks to hell for all eternity simply because they reject Jesus Christ.

But the Bible says otherwise.  “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me( John 14:6).

People like Rachel sincerely believe they could do a far better job of running the universe than the One who created it.  Talk about chutzpah!

No human being has the wisdom to determine if a person is fundamentally good or evil for the simple reason that no one knows for certain what’s in a person’s heart!  No one can ever truly know a person’s motives.

For those who hold to a relativistic worldview, good and evil, ethics and morality are simply cultural inventions and cannot be objectively defined.  Liberals perceive the Bible as a book of myths and fables, thus it mustn’t be taken seriously.  Those who do take the Bible seriously are considered “unenlighted” – a bunch of addlepated dunderheads.

Unbelievers carp that the Bible should not be the standard by which we judge good and bad.  So my question is, if not the Bible, then what standard do we use to determine ethics and morality?  And how should right and wrong be determined?  By consensus opinion?

Another one of Rachel’s grievances against Christianity is that many so-called Christians behave the same as unbelievers.  In other words, the lives of Christians she comes in contact with are inconsistent with what they profess to believe in. They claim Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, but they lie, cheat, steal, binge drink, sleep around, view pornography, plus they’re lazy.  In other words, they act like Christians.

Rachel has a point.

Many people want Jesus to be their Savior — because they know they’re dirty rotten sinners.  But they’re unwilling to humble themselves before the throne of God and put their complete trust in Him.   Obedience comes at a cost (take up your cross and follow me) and the price is too high.  They may believe in Jesus Christ, that He’s the Savior of the world and all.  But their pride gets in the way of allowing Christ to take the helm of the ship.  As poet William Earnest Henley noted:

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll:

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Contemporary Christians

In order to make my point, I created three typical Christians.

Michelle professes faith in Christ.  She attends church every Sunday, sings in the praise band, mans the coffer bar, and attends an occasional Bible study.  She rarely shares Christ with anyone, unless she’s forced into it, whereby she quickly spouts the condensed version of the gospel to avoid making the person feel uncomfortable.  Her excuse is that evangelism is not her spiritual gift.  Michelle believes God has gifted her with the ability to sing.  Her voice rivals Judy Garland’s so she really belts out a song in church.  But when it comes to sharing her faith she’s as timid as a mouse.  She feels that as long as she’s in a committed relationship, having sexual relations is not sinful. Nor is aborting a child.  Michelle became pregnant and had an abortion so as not to bring an unwanted child into the world.  She also swears like a sailor and dresses like a Hollywood pop-tart.

Jeff accepted Christ at a Billy Graham Crusade when he was a teen.  Ever since then he has tried to be a good person and lead a moral life.  Unless his kids have a sports event, the family is in church most Sundays.  He and his wife participate in a small group that meets in their home for Bible study and prayer.  Jeff is generous with his time, talent and treasure.  He tithes 10 percent of his income and is always there to lend a hand. One thing Jeff enjoys is getting together with the guys for Monday night football at a local sports bar.  He limits his beer intake to two schooners because any more than that could impair his driving.  Jeff believes he has the spiritual gift of evangelism and often brags about sharing his faith with dudes he meets at sports events or bars.  When Jeff does his income tax he uses “creative accounting practices.”  On occasion he views pornography on the Internet and thinks it’s no big deal.  Unbeknownst to his wife he regularly emails a woman he met in a chat room.

Michelle and Jeff profess Christ.  They both consider themselves good people and for the most part they try to live godly lives – but they’re quick to admit they’re not perfect!  They reject the “fundamentalist fringe” of Christianity and the “fundies” constant harping on God’s holiness. God knows we all have our faults, so why does a pastor need to belabor the point?  Michelle and Jeff do the best they can, and at least their hearts are in the right place. In the long run going to heaven is what really counts anyway, and since they accepted Christ (on their terms), they’re there! They may get through the pearly gates by the skin of their teeth, but at least they’ll be in!

Michelle and Jeff typify a lot of church-goers.  All they need is enough of God to feel comfortable.  Neither one of them want the fire and brimstone God the “fundies” preach about.  That God is too harsh, too judgmental – way too scary!  That God can be mean!

Wilber Reese sums up the attitude of a large number of contemporary Christians:

I would like to buy 3 dollars worth of God, please.
Not enough to explode my soul or disturb my sleep, but just enough to equal a cup of warm milk or a snooze in the sunshine. I don’t want enough of him to make me love a black man or pick beets with a migrant.
I want ecstasy, not transformation.
I want the warmth of the womb not a new birth.
I want about a pound of the eternal in a paper sack.
I’d like to buy 3 dollars worth of God, please.

Far too many Christians are looking for an ecstatic experience – they’re not looking to be transformed.  Why?  Because transformation involves change. Change takes work.  It’s often slow and at times painful.

For transformation to occur believers must immerse themselves in the Bible.  It’s the instrument God uses to conform His people to the image of Christ.  And by the way, there is no such thing as a solitary Christian.  No one should try to do Christianity on their own.  Christians are a part of a body — the Body of Christ — with Christ as the head.  Members of the church body are designed to function together as a whole.  Moreover, they are meant to lean on each other when the going gets tough.  Every believer should have a friend they can call at a moments notice.  This friend can assist with good advice and hold them accountable.

It’s not uncommon for the Christian to “crawl off the alter” and slink back into the world every once in a while.  Some believers can’t seem to shed what Paul calls our “flesh” because it’s like slipping one’s feet into a favorite pair of shoes.  But God will deliver us “out of the body of death.” (Romans 7:24-25)

Listen to what Paul has to say about transformation:

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12: 1-2).

If you’re a Christian, you must present yourself “holy and acceptable to God!”  Offering your life to Christ, holy and pleasing, is a prerequisite for discernment.  If this were happening, discernment wouldn’t be almost non-existent in the visible Church.  Sadly, professing Christians are dependent on the government for their education, health care, food, shelter, retirement, and all sorts of other “stuff.”  And it doesn’t help that God’s people are involved in a whole host of unbiblical practices, including Eastern mysticism, which God expressly forbids.  I’ve already covered this topic in “Got Meat?” so I won’t belabor the point.

Returning to Rachel, it hasn’t been lost on her that most professing Christians she knows share her liberal worldview.  And they behave like heathens!  This means (a) they’re unaware of God’s rules; (b) they’re aware of what the rules are but lack the will to conform.  A religion that breeds hypocrites turns Rachel off.  For that reason she has chosen to concoct a user-friendly religion with an open-minded god that has very few rules, a god that loves and accepts everyone.  Before I move on, it’s important to point out that Christians who have no desire to live their lives in accordance with what the Bible teaches could very well be false converts.

Rachel’s generic god does not require an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  I mean, please.  The atonement thing is so yesterday!  “Self” has replaced the Savior of mankind.  In other words, “I” will go to heaven, but “I” will make it on “my” own, without anyone’s help, because “I” deserve it.  So move over Jesus!

Generic god is very cool.  In fact, he/she is so cool that there’s no penalty for sin!  Man is judged solely on his good deeds….or whatever.  Rachel assumes her performance on Earth will pass muster and that generic god will welcome her into his/her kingdom when the time comes.  But what happens if Rachel’s performance doesn’t pass muster?  Wishy-washy Generic God can always be persuaded to change his/her mind.

Rachel is well aware that the God of the Bible offers no hope for those who reject His Son:

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness’ (Matthew 7:23).

What did Jesus mean by, “the will of my Father?”  God’s will is that we repent of our sins and put our faith in Christ.  Performing miraculous signs and wonders, doing good deeds, and being a “good person” does not cut it with God.  Here’s the reason:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

I’ll close this with one last comment about Michelle, one of the women mentioned above.  If you recall, Michelle claims she doesn’t have the gift of evangelism, so she’s off the hook when it comes to sharing the gospel.  Really?

Not according to Paul:

I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.  For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith” (Romans 1:14-17). (emphasis added)

Glenn Beck Receives A “Mantle” From A False Prophet

April 26, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

Chuck Pierce claims he’s a “prophet” in the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) or what many refer to as Dominionism.  Because of Pierce’s elevated status, he recently bestowed a “new mantle for the future” on Glenn Beck, popular TV/radio host, author and speaker.  “Prophet” Pierce presented the mantle to Beck at Global Spheres Center in Corinth, Texas as Mrs. Beck looked on.

Beck’s fans often hear him boast that he’s a Christian.  But let me assure you that nothing could be further from the truth.  Substantiation for this statement, if for no other reason, lies in the fact that he’s a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS).  When former Mormon Ed Decker of Saints Alive got wind of Beck’s mantle ceremony, he remarked:

For Chuck Pierce to claim that he was instructed of God to lay hands and [bestow] a holy mantle … for a man who claims a false priesthood, who sits under an exalted man-god who lives on a planet near the great star Kolob with his many goddess wives—that claim is of the father of lies, coming from the mouth of a very false prophet.

This is Mormon theology in a nutshell, brethren.  And no true Mormon will deny it.   (I don’t have the space to address specific concerns on Mormon theology so I’m providing alink for those who wish to learn more.)  My point is that by choosing someone who’s not a Christian, Chuck Pierce had to have received his “mantle bestowing instructions” from someone other than God, if he got them at all.  In his books, Beck clearly lays out his beliefs.  He’s not a cookie cutter Mormon by any stretch.  In fact, the beliefs he holds are a blend of Mormonism, New Age, New Thought, and occult!  Which begs the question: If Chuck Pierce is a true prophet of God, how could he have missed this?

Before I expand on the mantle presentation and its significance, I must point out that many people believe that the NAR is a theological cult even though its movers and shakers (I mean this quite literally) insist that it’s not.

So, what exactly is a cult?  Noted Bible scholar and founder of the Christian Research Institute, Walter Martin, described the cult of liberalism thusly:

It is a cult because it follows every outlined structure of cultism; its own revelations; its own gurus, and its denial–systematically–of all sound systematic Christian theology. It is a cult because it passes its leadership on to the next group that takes over–either modifying, expanding or contracting–the same heresies; dressing them up in different language, and passing them on. It is theologically corrupt because it is bibliologically corrupt; it denies the authority of Scripture, it ruins its own theology. And it ends in immorality; because the only way you could have gotten to this homosexual, morally relativistic garbage–which is today in our denominational structures–is if the leadership of those denominations denied the authority of the Scriptures and Jesus Christ as Lord. (Walter Martin, The Cult of Liberalism, CD Rom, 1985)

Dr. Martin had strong opinions on the cults and the occult.  In the above discussion he expressed his concern over liberalism, which had infiltrated the visible Church.  Some of the NAR’s teaching fits Dr. Martin’s definition.  Besides denying the authority of Scripture and relying on new revelations, NAR promotes Dominionism.  Three  quick examples: 1) Satan usurped man’s dominion over the earth through the temptation of Adam and Eve; 2) The Church is God’s instrument to take dominion back from Satan; 3) Jesus cannot or will not return until the Church has taken dominion by gaining control of the earth’s governmental and social institutions. (Source)

Other unbiblical beliefs are:

God is restoring the lost offices of church governance, namely the offices of Prophet and Apostle.

Leading figures in this seemingly loosely organized movement claim that these prophets and apostles alone have the power and authority to execute God’s plans and purposes on earth. They believe they are laying the foundation for a global church, governed by them. (Source)

So now that you understand a bit about the NAR, I’ll move on to the mantle ceremony.

It’s not often we’re given the opportunity to witness a couple of high ranking false prophets, one NAR the other LDS, sharing a stage together …except at the “Reclaim America” events.  Because Beck was involved, the ceremony caught the attention of the press and the news quickly spread throughout the blogosphere.  Not surprisingly, there were NAR folk who were not happy when they learned that their second in command (for now C. Peter Wagner is the self-professed “Presiding Apostle”) had mantled a Mormon.  What’s the significance of receiving a “mantle”?:

Anyone who is deeply involved in the NAR understands what it means when a prophet presents a “mantle” to someone. This practice is an allusion to a story in 1 Kings 19:19, when the prophet Elijah gives to the prophet Elisha his cloak–or “mantle,” as the word is rendered in the King James Version. This biblical story is interpreted by people in the NAR as a symbolic action, showing that the prophet Elijah was naming the prophet Elisha as his prophetic successor.

So when Pierce presented a mantle to Beck, people in the audience–who regard Pierce as a prophet–understood that their prophet was conferring some type of prophetic status on Beck. This should trouble Christians. Why? Because a leading prophet in the NAR is recognizing a member of the Mormon church–a cult of Christianity, which rejects essential doctrines of the Christian faith– as a true messenger of God. A true prophet of God would do no such thing.

Pierce apparently felt the need to offer a further justification for his action. Yesterday he posted a lengthier comment in which he acknowledged that Beck is a Mormon–though he also hinted that Beck may be on the path to becoming fully Christian. (And take notice that he referred to Beck as a specific individual’s “son in the Lord”–language that is typically used by Christians to describe a true Christian believer.) Certainly, many of Pierce’s followers have interpreted Pierce’s action to mean that he recognizes Beck as a fellow Christian. (Source)

First off, when Glenn Beck repents of his sins and puts his faith in the Jesus Christ of the Bible and leaves his church, we’ll know he’s sincere.  But at the moment he has placed his faith in the Jesus Mormon founder and “prophet” Joseph Smith dreamed up, the Jesus who, according to Smith’s writings, is the spirit brother of Lucifer.

What’s so amusing about what went on at the Global Spheres Center is that both of these men are false prophets.  Since there’s no denying this, we can safely say that neither one of them is saved.  All we need do is look at the fruit.  Their fruit’s so rotten that Smuckers would reject it.

Who do we have to thank for mainstreaming the NAR?  Pro-family leaders! They’ve made a concerted effort to team up with apostates in their all out effort to “save America.” As a result, a whole host of undiscerning Christians, who trust evangelical leaders, think that anyone involved in pro-family causes are true believers.  No doubt some of them are.  But many are false converts.  The Fact is, anyone who buys into NAR’s unscriptural beliefs is extremely weak in discerning truth from fiction.

Unbeknownst to many people in the Church, the religious and/or Christian Right (CR) and other leaders in the evangelical community have joined together with NAR and LDS folks in order to fight the culture war.  Ecumenicism, anyone?  And until recently very few Christians even realized this was going on.  I reported on the CR’s penchant for joining forces with apostates here.

“The NAR is powerful,” says author and speaker John Lanagan, “and thankfully does not rule the entire Body of Christ. But what have NAR leaders brought us? False eschatology, false visions, contemplative prayer (IHOP-KC and Bethel Redding), twisted doctrine, introduction to quantum mysticism (Bill Johnson, Mark Chironna), occult Kabbalah (Pierce), and mantles to nowhere.” (Source)

Lanagan’s reference to “Kabbalah” caught my attention.  So I decided to investigate.  Although I don’t always agree with The Berean Call, I’m going to include an excerpt from a piece they wrote on Pierce’s infatuation with Kabbalah:

Chuck Pierce, along with his partner, Robert Heidler, teaches much more than keeping the Old Testament feasts. Indeed, they have gone far beyond keeping such celebrations as Passover and have delved into “Christianized” forms of astrology, numerology, etc., and the kabbalah(embraced by celebrities Rosie O’Donnell, Madonna, et al.)

An infatuation with mysticism will always take one away from the Scriptures and now takes Pierce and Heidler into Jewishmysticism. For example, consider the following statement from Kabbalah 365, “Daily Fruit from the Tree of Life,” Day 131: “Although the air of the earthly atmosphere is thick in volume and mass, the mystery wisdom of the spirit realm still manages to enter this world because of the birds. For when the birds are in flight, their flapping wings cut through the thickness of the atmosphere, enabling in the moment for the mystery wisdom of the spirit realm to come through to our world.”

On May 2, 2008, Pierce issued what he calls “A Key Prophetic Word!” that parallels the kaballah: “I have come to make room for you to ascend to a new height. Extend your wings. Then extend them again. Stretch them to the left and the right. It is time for you to take flight!” (http://www.glory-of-zion.org/outmail/5-2-08_EuropeTripLetterOnline.htm).

Here’s another example: “I am sorting out those situations that are presently confining you. I am coming in with a sorting instrument to begin to sort that which has kept evil in your midst, working against My best purpose for your life. I will sort out the confusion that is around you. I am sending help now. What you need will be sorted out and your path will be rearranged. I AM coming down and cutting through the atmosphere that has been too thick for your vision to progress” (Ibid.).

That’s another parallel to kabbalah: “Your mind serves as a mail sorting room, where thousands of pieces of mail flow in to be sorted. The items that cannot be ‘sorted’ are swept into a pile, which we call the subconscious. Kabbalah gives you ten slots (Sephiroth) to sort the incoming mind processes in to, and making things manageable!” (http://www.thelivinglightfoundation.com/classesKabbalah.php).

(Links are BC’s — Source)

First of all, doesn’t God tell His people in no uncertain terms to stay away from occult practices?  (Leviticus 18:1-5) Jewish mysticism is all about the occult.  And besides that, Kabbalah’s considered a cult!  Obviously Prophet Pierce is aware of this fact and has chosen to disobey God by immersing himself in occult practices.  And the sheep follow the wolf into the woods…

Even though I found nothing to link Glenn Beck to Jewish mysticism, John Lanagan pointed me to a Youtube video produced by discerners over at Psalm 86 that links Mormonism to the Kabbalah. View the video here.

So – if NAR and LDS are truly Christian, as they claim, how can they possibly be involved in Jewish mysticism?  Moreover, if NAR and LDS are truly Christian, as they claim, which of them is the real deal?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Be Bereans

Anyone who wishes to know the truth must go to the scriptures to find it.  “The best way to guard yourself against falsehood and false teachers,” says Charles Ryrie, “is to know the truth. To spot a counterfeit, study the real thing. Any believer who “correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15) and who makes a careful study of the Bible can identify false doctrine. For example, a believer who has read the activities of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in Matthew 3:16-17 will immediately question any doctrine that denies the Trinity. Therefore, step one is to study the Bible and judge all teaching by what the Scripture says.” (Source)

If a professing Christian holds fast to what the Bible teaches, the conclusion he will come to is that NAR and LDS theology is decidedlyunbiblical.  And if their beliefs don’t line up with Scripture (reject what God expressly says in His Word) then it matters not that they’re “good people” or “good deed doers,” or really good looking, in reality they’re the enemy of God.  In other words, they’re not with Him, they’re in cahoots with Satan.  “Whoever is not with me is against me…” (Matthew 12:30)

There’s a stark divide between historic orthodox Christianity and the New Apostolic Reformation, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kabbalah, Word of Faith,Jehovah’s Witnesses, Hebrew Roots, and a whole host of equally dangerous counterfeits that spread a false gospel that saves no one. (1 Cor. 15:1-6)

I’ll close with a reminder from Peter:

Be sober-minded; be watchful.  Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.  (1 Peter 5:8)

Can A Moral Revival Happen Where God Is Dead?

April 7, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

The inexorable decay in moral conduct is evident and undeniable to any member of the cretin society. Only a fool or a fraudster would argue that the relativism ethics, which is the operative social prescription, is healthy human development for a harmonious culture. Society has gone mad. Look around and observe. Insanity in institutions and conflicts among personal interactions has become the norm. The basis of desirable stability and fair order are virtually non-existent. Upon this stage of discontent, humans are now viewed as the ultimate dispensable creatures. Eugenics is all the rage, as human life is treated with irreverence.

NWO Overman is the Eupraxsophy of Transhumanism article makes the assertion.

“All of Western Civilization is based upon the premise of “Natural Rights”. The implication that Natural Law is an inescapable component of individual purpose and social conduct is central to a cosmology of a grand design. The pursuit of understanding does not have to adopt a deist revelation in order to advocate a rational limitation on the human being. However, a belief in a divine creator is the very foundation of our common heritage and traditional culture.”

The conflict this affirmation brings to the sensibilities of the trendy set need not be supported with examples. Just look around. The fundamental crisis in faith is real. The popular culture is void of meaning and purpose. So it comes with a touch of hope that a movie entitled, God’s Not Dead, has the courage to provide a philosophical inquiry in a subject that most social relativists avoid. Watch the trailer and get a feel for the screenplay.

A short Plot Summary follows.

Freshman university student Josh Wheaton attends a philosophy class, where the uncompromising Professor Radisson requires all students to submit a signed statement that the “God is dead” and never existed. When Josh refuses due to his own Christian beliefs, the Professor challenges him to defend his position that his God is real – which leads to a series of confrontational presentations between himself and the professor, with the class as jury. Josh’s plans to go to law school depend on not failing this class. Josh’s fellow Christian girlfriend urges him not to throw away his future with this meaningless action of defiance. At the same time, Pastor Dave and African missionary Jude attempt to leave town on a trip, but are hindered by curious incidents. Student Ayisha is at odds with her father’s conservative Muslim religious principles. Hotshot businessman Mark acts cynically towards his mentally ill mother, while his famous leftist blogger girlfriend receives bad news from a doctor. – Written by ChazzMatt

Inherent Autonomy could not exist if there is no God. The Politics of the Existential Experience poses the essential Christian existential assertion that faith in the belief of God is the substantive foundation and ingredient for a moral imperative.

“For if God does not exist it would of course be impossible to prove it; and if he [or she] does exist it would be folly to attempt it.” Demonstrating the existence or non-existence of God only produces reasons for belief, not the actual proof that God exists. Kierkegaard also claims, “…between God and his works there exists an absolute relationship: God is not a name but a concept” The relationship between man and God is a concept. A person with belief in God, cannot prove its existence through his or her own relationship with God.

Many of the columns published on BREAKING ALL THE RULES project a need for a moral reawakening. Without the acceptance that the source of free will is based upon the creation of each human life, the massive confusion and social disintegration that is rapidly exploding will continue.

In the Totalitarian Collectivism article, The American “TC” Saga – Part 3 – CHURCH, Fyodor Dostoyevsky observed, “When God is dead anything is possible.” This is the consequence that a rejection of God accepts. Indeed, the “anything possible” culture has produced a dehumanization of life. Chaos is not the same as madness. The amplified evil is not random, it is intentional because restraint upon malevolent action has been delinked from a final judgment.

Many social radicals and social philosophers have attempted to build a moral system while being an atheist. The Solitary Purdah essay, Atheism to Secular Humanism and Objectivism deals with two such icons of religious deniers. The conclusion is germane.

“If the history of civilized society founded upon institutional religion, is replete with suffering and carnage; by what strange twist of belief in the ethical egoism of Goldman’s nihilist collectivism and Rand’s objectivism, could possibly make life better?

Individuals like Goldman and Rand are lost. They are solitary purdah pretentious intellectuals without the presence of God in their life. The screen curtain they erect around their egotism is a veritable veil surrounding their own lack of humanity.”

All the hollow cries for social justice from non believers always fail to achieve results. The reason is clear. Their unauthentic ethical fantasy land has no genuine moral foundation.

The hopeful message in the movie God’s Not Dead will fall on deaf ears for the hordes of self absorbed pseudo intellectuals, as portrayed and embodied in Professor Radisson. The absence in submission to God’s law and the rejection of Jesus’ Gospel and the Sermon on the Mount teachings is the most crucial denial of one’s own humanity. HOPE cannot exist outside faith that evil will ultimately be defeated.

The current path has society destined for ruin. Since waking up politically is but a mere step towards ‘Cosmic Consciousness’, the true awakening must be spiritual. By any normal gauge it would take a miracle for the American public to regain their moral compass. Yet, that is exactly what is possible if the nation humbles themselves and beg for mercy.

Immoral politics will not fade away, but political corruption can be tamed if a revival of the soul repents and seeks God’s forgiveness. By now a substantial segment of our readership is turned off. So be it. It is uncomfortable to admit one’s own sins. It is even more difficult to accept responsibility for the evil one contributes to the sick world that the God is Dead culture has fostered.

America’s Spiritual Crisis by Erwin W. Lutzer writes.

A National Revival Needed. There is reason to believe that only a national revival can pull us out of the ditch into which we have slid. I am convinced as all of us must be that every human resource is now inadequate and only the direct intervention of God can reverse our country’s spiritual decay. If America will really be given another chance, at least some kingdoms of darkness will have to fall like dominoes. That can only happen if God chooses to show us the mercy we most assuredly do not deserve.

There is Hope. Revival is possible as long as God is God. Jonathan Edwards, a leader during the First Great Awakening in America, argued that God grants light when the darkness is the greatest, and it was in just such times that the glorious periods of revival occurred in America’s history. When there was disinterest in religion, gross immorality and rampant unbelief, God poured out His undeserved gracious blessing.

This summary was written many years ago. The fact that such a prescription has not taken hold just means that the crisis is that much more acute.

It should be evident that burying the Christian Trinity has released the forces of satanic demons that are busy in persecuting believers. When the existentialist philosopher Jean Paul Sartre rendered his famous quotation from his play, No Exit; “Hell is other people”, characters are in hell because they are trivial, pretentious people. This is Sartre’s satiric point: they are in hell because they are petty-bourgeois. Their concern for the world goes only as far as the extent to which the world services their needs. When it doesn’t adequately cater to their desires, they blame the world and the people in it – that is, they say that “hell is other people.”

Professor Radisson is every bit the ostentatious atheist that makes up so much of the popular culture. He might share the same non-believer orientation that Sartre expounded during most of his life. However, in the final segment screen of God is Not Dead, Radisson dying from an auto accident, repents and seeks forgiveness. While according to his friend Pierre Victor, Sartre had a drastic change of mind about the existence of God and started gravitating toward Messianic Judaism.

The point is that even the most hardened “true believer” when faced with death can seek atonement. In our case rejecting atheism for faith has been long settled. The judgment is still out if the American nation has the courage to rebuff the God is dead culture and return to our heritage as Christian believing people. Start with a moral revival, one person at a time and witness your faith.

Under Whose Restraint Shall We Live?

“Few things are more commonly misunderstood than the nature and meaning of theocracy. It is commonly assumed to be a dictatorial rule by self-appointed men who claim to rule for God.  In reality, theocracy in Biblical law is the closest thing to a radical libertarianism that can be had.”  “Roots of Reconstruction”   R. J. Rushdoony

There are a number of Christians who walk under the Libertarian label, some of them are prominent.  Some seem attracted by its intellectual qualities, others endorse individual freedom, some believe in non-aggression, many site R. J. Rushdoony’s favorable assessment, and others appreciate the big tent.

I am a lover of liberty and an opposer of license.

Libertarians do have a big tent:  In the tent are atheists, agnostics, satanists, homosexuals, lesbians, revolutionaries, Democrats, Republicans, rebels, individualists, koinoniaists, free love lovers, same sex marriage supporters, prostitution condoners, etc.   There is no particular moral standard the only evil is force.

Ayn Rand, often quoted by Libertarians, hated Christianity, Ludwig Von Mises was an agnostic, Fredrick Hayek was an accomplished economist but far from being a Christian.  Individualism and intellectualism attract the scholarly set but do not provide a sound basis for an enduring state.

All Libertarians seem to dance around the light pole of individual freedom.  But the definition of freedom and its extent remains arbitrary. The Libertarian big tent covers a vast philosophical spectrum and an array of quests for freedom running all the way to license.

At a recent Freedom Fest Nelson Hultberg made a presentation that attempted to put a new pair of shoes and the Libertarian philosophy.  Hultberg is a fine writer and a cogent thinker.  In his book “The Golden Mean” and his talk at Freedom Fest he promotes a Libertarian position in the middle of the spectrum between individual freedom and license.

Hultberg is on track; Libertarians need to find a core belief.  At one end are the rabid anarchists who would support violent revolution along with retribution similar to the chaos of the French Revolution; and at the other end are Christians who support the restraint of God’s perfect legal system.

Hultberg strives for a righteous mean by recommending the “Judeo-Christian ethic”.

Libertarians are human with the same proclivity for sin that permeates the remainder of the social structure.  A recent attempt to form a Libertarian community in Chile, South America, is a case in point.  It was called “Galt’s Gulch Chile” from Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged”. Read here

Begun in 2012 by four wealth escapists, expat John Cobin residing in Chile, Jeff Berwick of The Dollar Vigilante, Cobin’s Chilean partner, and Ken Johnson a real estate and anti-aging guru, the project was quickly beset by problems that put its original partners at odds and marred the original plan.  Lots were sold that defied Chilean law because authority to subdivide had not been granted before the sale.   Investors found they could not build on the land they had purchased.

Libertarian investors in the Chilean property did not do enough homework to be sure what exactly they were buying.   Doing such homework is difficult in the U. S. but it is even more difficult in foreign countries where language barriers and unknown prejudices can create enormous problems

In many foreign countries American citizens who are considered wealthy and are targets.  My wife and I made several trips to Costa Rica and Argentina finding it very difficult to invest in property even when Christian ministers were involved.  Read here.

Jeff Berwick was a strident vocal critic of Johnson but he has decided not to take legal action because of his Libertarian principles.  Though that forebearance might seem laudatory, it is a serious error.  Libertarians tend to avoid the word justice since it involves force but without justice peace cannot endure.

Nelson Hultberg’s well written and well planned speech at Freedom Fest (read here) contained some    serious errors and erroneous contentions.  It is not that truth is missing from Hultberg’s proposal but that the truth he purposes is just another humanistic attempt to conform society to a formula.

Man was not created to govern himself and because he has continued to ignore the Creator and attempted to make his own laws history is a continuous story of tyranny, war, poverty, and starvation.

Hultberg’s reference to the Judeo-Christian ethic has two problems:  One Judaism is not Christianity and most of those who practice that religion harbor a vicious hate for Christians.  Christianity was intended for the people of ancient Israel but was rejected, the Covenant was broken.  An entirely new class of chosen people was created by the New Covenant; the new chosen people are Christians.  Access to the Father is confined to the Son.

Now a word about extremism:  Muslims are a terror to the world because they take their faith seriously.  Christians and Jews are militant but are helpless to combat a religion that enforces its own legal system and understands that victory depends on changing law.  Without an overarching, immutable legal system human beings cannot live in peace.

On too many days I read of some mislead minister who claims God’s legal standards are no longer in force and quotes Scripture to support the contention.  These ministers of the Gospel are accusing the One True God of setting a harmful legal standard for His chosen people.  Do not believe it!  Obedience to Old Testament law, both criminal and civil, would bring back peace and prosperity to a social order that is utterly lost.

We are living in a society that accepts human torture and the murder of millions by war but balks at the killing of one human for blaspheming the Living God.  In America, respect for the Creator of the Universe is less than respect for the state.  It is no wonder that the state has become tyrannical.

The Sixties mantra “God is dead” is still in force across the United States.  Humanism has so thoroughly permeated our churches that a true worshiper of the Living God is no longer welcome.  The lack of action by most American Christians shouts to the world that they do not really believe what they say.

All over America, people are frightened by the prospect of Sharia law.  Muslims are coming and they are bringing Sharia law!  Sharia law requires the death penalty for adultery!  It cuts off a hand for stealing, etc. etc.   While all this is stirring up America’s so called Bible believing Christians they continue ignore the Book they profess to believe; a book that calls for the death penalty for murder, striking or cursing a parent, kidnapping, adultery, incest, bestiality, sodomy and homosexuality, rape of a betrothed virgin, witchcraft, offering human sacrifices, incorrigible delinquency or habitual criminality, blasphemy, Sabbath desecration, propagation of false doctrines, sacrificing to false gods, refusing to abide by a court decision (defying the law) and failing to restore the pledge or bailment.  This is the Law that blesses us and pleases God when it is obeyed, the Law that Jesus, the Son, obeyed to perfection.

Biblical legal penalties are regularly scoffed at by arrogant pagans.  They are anathema to the majority of America’s so called Christian leaders and their followers.  There is some talk of obedience in Charismatic circles but to these Spirit minded Christians it is an ephemeral guidance that is always dubious.  God writes His Law on the hearts of His chosen people but the heart is desperately wicked and untrustworthy.

Few Christians even understand that the main theme of the entire Bible is obedience!  Ancient Israel was rejected for disobedience.  God has not changed He still seeks an obedient people.  We are saved and forgiven by the Blood of Christ but the standard for our behavior is still God’s Law.

While we live in a cesspool society so dangerous that we need guns for our protection we reject the antidote preferring the danger and chaos.   We cringe at God’s corporal punishments which He provided as a benefit considering them a curse while our military kills millions of innocents in far off places.  Now, gentle Christian, I am going to shock you again:  God’s Law provides a righteous system of genocide which over a couple of generations would cull rebellious schemers from the social order and provide for a more peaceful and prosperous existence.

In this video former Congressman and Presidential candidate, Ron Paul, attempts to explain Anarchism.  He emphasizes the non-aggressive foundation of Libertarianism.  Expecting energetic human beings to be placid in the face of disagreement is utopian, it will not happen. Aggression is an intrinsic part of every person, some more than others; if it is directed properly it is good, if wrongly it is bad.   Galt’s Gulch in Chile provides a fine example and highlights the tragic error of failing to seek justice.

Hultberg writes, “Freedom requires rational, irrefutable thought to be won and maintained. If we have built our defense of freedom upon a false philosophy with faulty premises, then we are fighting in vain.”  The statement is correct but the philosophy is faulty.

Human beings cannot enjoy liberty without just restraints.  All of the fine sounding scenarios produced by the best logic and reason fall apart in the face of sinful men.  The musings of pagans will never result in a peaceful society; requirements set forth by intellectual visionaries will quickly be breached and the beautiful picture will be marred by failure.  Liberty is impossible without voluntary adherence to just restraint.

The Constitution of the United States of America was written to govern a virtuous people.  Virtue and tyranny are inversely proportional – as virtue goes down tyranny goes up.   Consider our current society; virtue is seriously diminished while tyranny has become a monster.

R. J. Rushdoony fancied Libertarian anti-statism. God’s Law is not intended to be imposed on any person.  Obedience must be a voluntary matter of the heart. Christian Reconstruction does not seek to impose God’s Will on the social order.  We simply seek to live under God’s mandates and worship Him as the Creator and King of the universe and to work to bring His creation and His people under the peace and prosperity His rule promises.

The question that must be answered is Under Whose Restraint Shall We Live?  God’s or man’s?

P.S. Libertarians do a remarkable job of ferreting out and exposing government lies and tyranny.  They are way ahead of the Christian Church in exposing evil in high places.  Kudos!

Rushdoony’s Religion

February 8, 2015 by · 1 Comment

My wife and I have been making arrangements for our transition into Heaven. Funerals are expensive and urgent arrangements at the time of death are not only burdensome but inordinately expensive. A simple pine box buried in the family plot with a marker has burgeoned into charges for transportation, embalming, a casket, rental of space for grieving friends, etc. etc. Cost in the five figure range can quickly accrue.

The man that arrived at our home to fill out papers and arrange for death certificates mentioned that he had recently had a heart attack. He takes care of an invalid wife and was blest that the people from his church came into his home and helped him until he was again able to assume his responsibilities. His gratitude overflowed. He loves his church and even made overture’s about us joining.

The church he attends has grown from meeting in a strip mall to building a fine new church on property they own. Much of the growth results from human interactions. Today’s Christians seek fellowship and blessing. Churches that are able to create a congregation that cares for each other are successful. The mission of successful churches becomes a weekly service that blesses the congregation and teaches them to “love” one another.

”Love in practice is a harsh and terrible thing compared to love in dreams” Fyodor Dostoevsky.

R. J. Rushdoony writes that on many occasions well-meaning people have urged him to get involved with the scholarly world and do some critical analysis. They want to make his work more prestigious but his writings are designed for action, not analysis. The Christian religion has become an effete humanistic entertainment that seeks beneficial promises and personal blessing rather than actions that will change the world.

Theology is not considered exciting reading but for a Christian seeker Rushdoony’s writing provides a startling and exciting experience. There are passages that bring one to tears with truths set forth in plain an understandable language. Rushdoony was different because he wrote as though he was sitting at the elbow of God. His objective was to understand and to point to the error of those who do not.

In Rushdoony’s books God is firmly in control of His creation and seeks Christians who will obey His Law and advance His Kingdom. He was acutely aware of the perennial danger of humanism to the Church of Jesus Christ. He had no truck with those who divide Scripture by what they believe and what they reject. Scripture is the Word of God and all of it is for our benefit. Like the Bible, his emphasis was on obedience. But he was ever aware that he, too, is a sinner and must depend on the forgiveness God provided for His chosen people.

Statism is a bane to Godly life. When government grows like cancer and begins to delve into the intimate details of everyday life it usurps the throne of God and interferes with obedience by replacing His law with the mandates of men. Current would-be reforms are focused on changing our government. What we need to do is change ourselves. Our government will not obey God when we ourselves do not.

If want justice we must be just. If we want honesty we must honest. If we want morality we must be moral. And, if we want change we must be discerning, truthful and confrontational.

Rushdoony lamented the supercilious clergy. He saw clearly that obedience is the quest of the heart of God and though His law is written on the hearts of serious Christians sin requires the yardstick of His written Law.

Rushdoony believed that God would honor His promise to protect His people so he was not fatalistic in assessing our current situation. His trust was in the God of the Bible not in the evil actions of His creatures.

His writings disdain intellectualism and the practice of writing for the consumption of fellow theologians. He was practical, seeking to point the way for believers to act in ways that are pleasing to God and redemptive of society. Expository preaching was not enough. Preachers needed to point the way to actions that would energize their listeners to obedient behavior that would significantly advance the Gospel in the culture.

He writes, “Almost all evangelical and Reformed scholarly works are written with a non-existent modernist audience in mind; most are thus pathetic in their futility. They seek to “prove” not to declare.”

Rushdoony denounces attempts by scholars to divide man into parts, body, mind, and spirit or to the material and spiritual. He writes that Neoplatonism works to create dualism. “But in Neoplatonism, despite the presence of the two substances, one is superior, the spiritual. It is the higher realm. The higher realm for the scholars is the ideational. For the ‘practical’ men, and for the church members, it becomes the ‘spiritual,’ the charismatic, the emotional, the ‘heart’ realms of activities of ‘love.’ In both cases, the wholeness of God’s word, and its materiality, becomes lost.”

The Bible treats man as a single entity and attempts to divide him into segments creates “a non-Biblical materialistic religion”.

Modern culture refuses to believe what is not logical to the minds of men. They treat God like a mechanism that they must understand and manipulate. They fail to acknowledge that God’s ways are not our ways and that if we could encompass Him in our sinful minds He is no longer be our God but we His. This was the determining sin in God’s Garden and is the determining sin of modern man – seeking to be like God.

Rushdoony will have none of this. He supports believing first and understanding later while the theology of our time attempts the destructive procedure of attempting to understand in order to believe. He totally accepts the God of the Bible and acknowledges that there are things that he does not understand.

We are enjoined to love one another. But when the definition of love is maligned by a wishy-washy acceptance of humanity that fails to cite the source of love as the God of the Bible we do not glorify the actions of God but instead we glorify the actions of men.

Rushdoony’s religion is not popular in our day. Christians have been nurtured on a humanistic religion that only sees the Hand of God in delightful miracles. Obedience is so far from the understanding of American citizens that they quake when Muslims bring Sharia law into the United States and seek authority to obey its mandates.

The spirit that causes a visceral fear is of Sharia law blocks the ability to obey the God of the Bible. Adam and Eve disobeyed by seeking to be like God; Jesus obeyed by always doing the will of the Father. We are to emulate Jesus.

In setting themselves up as the arbiters of justice contemporary men and women sustain war, murder, confusion, and tyranny. Justice, freedom, and prosperity await the society that obeys the God of the Bible and His Commandments. Man was not created to govern himself.

What a pleasure to read R. J. Rushdoony!

“You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, no take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” Deut. 4:2

“I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy in this book: if anyone adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part in the tree of life and the holy city, which is written in this book.” Rev. 22:18-19

The American Church Has Some Big Problems

February 7, 2015 by · 7 Comments

That the American Church has problems is no surprise. Critics of the Church, many of whom have never actually taken an active part, have hurled pot shots at the Church since its inception. Churches are led and comprised of sinful, fallen people. Accordingly, there will be imperfections, shortcomings, failures, etc. Name an institution managed by people that does not have the same pitfalls.

That said, the current Church in America not only has problems, it has BIG problems. I’m talking about problems that are so huge they threaten the very survival of not only the Church itself, but of our nation, as well.

During the Twentieth Century, liberalism pretty much killed America’s mainstream denominational churches; and legalism did the same thing to America’s fundamentalist conservative churches.

In mainstream denominational churches, the rejection of the veracity of the Scriptures, the repudiation of essential Biblical doctrines, and the reception of liberal social agendas sent people by the millions fleeing these fellowships. Virtually every mainline denomination has been losing membership for decades.

For example, it is one thing for the state to grovel before politically correct ideology and embrace such moral deviances as homosexual marriage. To begin with, the state has no rightful place in sanctioning, defining, or legislating marriage at all. Marriage was never a state matter. It is a sacred matter. Our Creator has already sanctioned and defined marriage. What the state does or doesn’t do is irrelevant. As with most issues involving faith, the best thing civil government can do is butt out. But for the Church to embrace homosexual marriage is another matter altogether. No Christian who has even a rudimentary understanding of the Biblical and Natural laws regarding marriage could maintain fellowship with a church or denomination that would surrender to the amoral machinations of a degraded society. And that is just one issue that has caused millions of believers to flee America’s mainline churches and denominations.

For fundamentalist conservative churches, legalism has had the same effect as liberalism among mainline churches: it has pretty much killed them. During the last half of the Twentieth Century, fundamentalist conservative churches exploded in growth. A few decades ago, the largest churches and Sunday Schools in America were fundamentalist. But, just as mainstream churches succumbed to liberalism, fundamentalist churches succumbed to legalism. As the Scripture notes, “the letter killeth,” and, indeed, it has pretty much destroyed America’s fundamentalist churches. In fact, as a movement, it HAS destroyed them.

Accordingly, going into the Twenty First Century, these two cancers were already major problems within the American Church. But the problems that have wormed their way into the Church during the first decade and a half of the Twenty First Century have grown in both intensity and pervasiveness to the point that only a miracle from Heaven can avert impending disaster.

Here are the major problems that are destroying the American Church:

*Success Orientation

America’s churches went from a “church growth” ideology in the latter half of the Twentieth Century to a “success” orientation in the formative years of the twenty-first century. “Success” is now the driving motivation of the vast majority of America’s churches. But “success” is not defined in Scriptural terms; it is defined in secular terms.

A major study released by George Barna a few months ago clearly showed that “success” is the predominant philosophy of America’s churches. And Barna’s research listed the five-fold criteria that determined “success” in the minds of most pastors and churches: 1) Attendance, 2) Offerings, 3) Number of programs, 4) Size of staff, and, 5) Square footage of facilities. In fact, Barna’s research showed that the vast majority of pastors will purposely NOT preach what they know is Biblical truth in order to accommodate the five-fold “success” goals listed. This has led to popularity-preaching; entertainment-oriented programs; soft, non-confrontational teaching; and an overall weak and compromising pulpit.

The “success” orientation of the modern church is a major problem.

*The Egregious Misinterpretation of Romans 13, the 501c3 IRS non-profit organization status for churches, and Statism

Though these three issues each have an independent nature, I put them together as they are intricately connected.

Though many pastors and church leaders would probably not be willing to admit it, for all intents and purposes, our churches are mostly more concerned with being the compliant servant of the state than they are the obedient servant of God. The way most pastors teach Romans 13 is nothing more than the promotion of idolatry. Christians are taught to obey civil government almost without question. As was the case in Nazi Germany, America’s churches are taught that obedience to the state is obedience to God.

Have you been to a modern church wedding recently? If you have, as the pastor pronounced the bride and groom as husband and wife, you probably heard him say, “As an officer of the laws of the State of (your State) and in the presence of God…I now pronounce you man (or husband) and wife.”

The IRS 501c3 non-profit organization status for churches (instituted in 1954) has turned pastors and church officers into corporate officers of the state–and most pastors and church leaders KNOW it–even if they are unwilling to admit it.

It’s all about preserving the church’s non-profit status so contributors can deduct their offerings on income tax forms and so that the church doesn’t have to pay sales taxes on what they purchase or property taxes on what they own. And whatever pastors and church officers are required by the state to do in order to preserve that non-profit status, they will comply.

This doesn’t require a knock at the door by an IRS agent; it doesn’t require threatening letters or phone calls; it doesn’t require any direct show of force by any government agency against the church. Pastors and church officers INSTINCTIVELY know where the “third rail” is and will avoid it at all costs in order to not jeopardize their non-profit status.

The desire to comply with the IRC (Internal Revenue Code) for churches makes it easy for pastors to teach the Hitlerian version of total submission to civil government.

Statism is NOT patriotism. Neither is it Christian. The Bible is chock-full of examples of resistance to unlawful government. I’m sure many of our pastors and church leaders have never personally studied the issue and are simply regurgitating what they have been taught. I am confident that many of them are truly ignorant of what they are doing, but that doesn’t change what they are doing. Wittingly or unwittingly, they have allowed themselves to become statists: the sheepish servants of the state.

The condition of the American Church today is EXACTLY the same as was the condition of the German and Russian Church during the rise of Adolph Hitler and Joe Stalin. This is why the Church seems totally unconcerned and indifferent to the growing Police State in America today.

*Ignorance of Natural Law and the Law of Nations

God-ordained Natural Law has not been taught from America’s pulpits since the Nineteenth Century. The vast majority of pastors and church leaders in America are totally ignorant of these immutable laws.

The lack of understanding regarding Natural Law has made it virtually impossible for the American Church to truly understand the fundamental principles of good government and liberty. All most Christians know about government is what they hear on FOX News or from Rush Limbaugh. Their pastors almost never broach the subject. And for good reason: most pastors are themselves ignorant on the subject. Therefore, about all they can talk about is “liberal” vs. “conservative,” or Democrat vs. Republican. The divine principles of Natural Law that are supposed to govern nations and man-to-man relationships are foreign to the thinking and understanding of the vast majority of pastors and churches.

The ignorance and misunderstanding of Natural Law by the Church has created the societal and political conditions that now exist in this country.

But there is one more major problem in the American Church. And I believe this problem is the GREATEST problem of all. And, to be honest, it had not dawned on me how pervasive and deep this problem was until last week.

*The Church is Filled With Hate

In my column last week, I used the movie, American Sniper, as a catalyst to point out that the United States has been waging unjust war on countries such as Iraq–and meddling in the internal affairs of countries such as Iraq–for decades. I also pointed out that not all Muslims are terrorists and to condemn all Muslims on the basis of Muslim Jihadists is wrong.

Folks, you can’t believe the firestorm of anger that deluged me. My Facebook page registered over 100,000 views of my comments and precipitated a flood of hate-filled responses. Here is a sample of the more-mild reactions:

“All Christians should be standing against Islam and proclaiming America for the kingdom of Christ. I am not a Muslim sympathizer and I have lost respect for you, Mr. Baldwin. Islam is anti-Christianity. You cannot serve 2 masters.”

By standing against Islam, Cathy means it is right and righteous to go to war against Muslim nations, because they are “anti-Christianity.” So, Cathy, since when is it America’s responsibility to export Christianity over the barrel of a gun? I suppose we should then invade and destroy every Muslim nation in existence, including Saudi Arabia.

Speaking of Saudi Arabia, if we can believe the official story of 9/11 (which I don’t), the Muslim terrorists that perpetrated those attacks were all from Saudi Arabia, NOT Iraq. Why didn’t we invade Saudi Arabia? Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11 and everyone on the planet knows it. In truth, Saudi Arabia has done more to fund Islamist terrorists than any other nation in the region. Yet, official American foreign policy regards Saudi Arabia as our friend and ally.

But Saudi Arabia is a Muslim nation, which means they are “anti-Christianity,” so Cathy (and many like her) believes we should go to war with these nations to advance “the kingdom of Christ.” But what about Judaism, Cathy? Judaism is as “anti-Christianity” as Islam. What about Hinduism? What about Buddhism? What about Atheism? Is America supposed to go to war with every nation of the world that has a population of people who are “anti-Christianity”? If so, we should be attacking most of the nations of the world.

And since when can we evangelize the pagan peoples of the world via brute force? When has that ever worked? And what Scripture do you base that theory on? People are won to Christ with the message of God’s amazing grace and love through Christ’s death on the cross. What? Did God commission us to kill and destroy all of the heathen of the world? I thought our commission was to love and win them, not attack and kill them.

But a host of attacks against my comments last week were much more caustic. Here is an example:

“Imam Mohammed Judas Baldwin; My wife and I were listening on line to your 1-25-15 program, I shut the program off when I heard your rant against your Christian brother and sister Pastors. My wife astutely said: ‘Muslim Lover?’ I believe I have figured out your love of all things Islam, and your betrayal of God, Jesus Christ, and Christians. Your God Allah, Your savior Mohammad, and your fellow Muslims. Allah offered you a better deal. Paradise and 72 Virgins. The Virgins, in your case, 50/50 prepubescent boys and girls. Judas Iscariot had the decency to hang himself for his betrayal of my savior Jesus Christ. How about you? You can get Allah and the virgins, sooner, if you do it to day…Shame on you, you Fool.”

The message I delivered last Sunday, and to which Michael was reacting to, was taken from Matthew 5:44, “Love your enemies,” and from Matthew 7:12, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

And, yes, Michael, I do love Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists, etc. They are all souls for whom Christ died.

If unbelievers and pagans want to be filled with hate, so be it; but hatred has NO PLACE WHATSOEVER in the heart of a Christian. And after receiving tens of thousands of hate-filled responses regarding my comments last week, it dawned on me that the American Church is largely filled with hate–hatred against the Muslim people.

Ever since 9/11, Christians and conservatives have developed a hatred and animus, not just against Jihadist-Muslims (which, even that is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE for a Christian), but against Muslim people everywhere. All Muslims are commonly castigated and vilified just because they are Muslims.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is absolutely NOT TRUE that all Muslims are anti-American, anti-Christian murderers and terrorists. It is NOT TRUE that all Muslims want to enact Sharia Law in the United States. It is NOT TRUE that all Muslims are our enemies.

I wonder how many of these Muslim haters have ever met a Muslim in person. I have. I have met many–both in the United States and in the Middle East. They are NOT all America-haters. They are NOT all trying to kill us. America has had Christian missionaries ministering among Muslim nations for as long as our country has been in existence. And many Christians would be shocked to know that overall the Gospel has received greater acceptance by the Muslim population than by other religions of the region–much more, in fact, than by the Jewish population.

Here is a letter I received from a Christian missionary named Jeff:

“Hi, Chuck! We…want to tell you that we stand 100% with what you said in both your column and to your congregation. We have been missionaries for 40 years, a good ten of those in Muslim countries (Tunisia, Libya, Jordan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Bosnia, and Albania). We have not just met or talked to a Muslim, we have witnessed to them in depth for years. It is SO RARE to hear anyone nowadays saying anything conciliatory towards Muslims, much less positive. I thank you for the things you have said, and am so very sorry for the hateful responses you received in the comments to your column that reveal the dark heart of many Christians in the U.S.”

To be honest, most of the Muslims I have met in the U.S. and in the Middle East demonstrate more kindness, common courtesy, and genuine compassion than many of the so-called Christians I have known.

Let’s be honest: some Muslims are Muslims in name only, much like many Baptists are Baptists in name only, or Catholics are Catholics in name only, or Mormons are Mormons in name only, or Jews are Jews in name only, etc. There are millions of Christians in America’s churches that couldn’t tell you what’s in the Bible to save their lives. They couldn’t quote the Ten Commandments; they couldn’t quote the Golden Rule; they couldn’t name Christ’s apostles; they couldn’t quote five verses of Scripture from memory if their lives depended on it. There are many Muslims in the exact same condition.

Furthermore, not all Muslims, who are devout, take the verses of the Koran that speak of Jihad and killing infidels, etc., to literally mean killing all non-Muslims today. No, not all of them do!

Think of this: how many of us Christians believe that the civil laws and military commands that God gave to the children of Israel through Moses should be literally incorporated into the Church and into the civil laws of America today? Do you believe we should be stoning people to death for adultery, or breaking the Sabbath (So, any Christian nurse or policeman or physician or fireman, etc., who works on Saturday should be stoned to death?), or blasphemy, or for children who curse their parents? Do you? Should we literally destroy entire nations–including men, women, and children today? These things were literally commanded by Jehovah God for the children of Israel under Moses. And, yes, God is God and is righteous and just as much when he condemns as when he forgives. No man sits in judgment of God. His ways are always right and holy. But God is NOT giving direct audible commands to anyone in the U.S. government today–or to anyone in our church pulpits, for that matter.

Many Muslims I’ve met interpret those passages in the Koran like we do those Old Testament Scriptures. Why can Christians interpret our Bible in this manner but Muslims cannot interpret their bible in a similar fashion?

In fact, I know of several Christian pastors and preachers in America who mimic Muslim Jihadists and believe that we SHOULD be implementing the Mosaic Law in our country today. If they had their way, we would be stoning people to death for the sins mentioned above just as they did under Moses. Have you ever witnessed a stoning? It is as equally torturous as beheading–maybe even more so.

Beyond that, these Muslim haters seem to be completely ignorant of the fact that every day there are tens of thousands of Muslims who risk their lives resisting Muslim Jihadists. It was a Muslim village that risked their lives against the Taliban to save the American fighting man that was depicted in the movie, Lone Survivor. Why don’t we recognize this reality? It’s because hatred and bigotry against the Muslim people have blinded us.

Plus, the dirty truth that most Americans, including most Christians, seem unwilling to accept is that most of the conflict between the United States and the Muslim nations of the Middle East has been created by our own federal government.

I speak regularly with retired Special Forces military personnel who share with me the way our own CIA and State Department have bullied, lied to, intimidated, and betrayed our Muslim friends in the Middle East. They have seen it up close and personal. This has been going on for decades. In fact, our federal government has tortured hundreds of people in the Middle East in some of the most vile ways possible. The only difference is, they don’t broadcast it over television.

I recently asked a retired Green Beret, “How much of the conflict between the U.S. and Middle Eastern states would stop if Washington, D.C., would simply stop meddling in the internal affairs of those countries?” This Green Beret served in the the Middle East for years; he was a Special Ops soldier. He saw the surreptitious and covert things that our government routinely does–things the public doesn’t see. His answer to me was, “100%.”

Our own federal government put the Taliban in power, put Al Qaeda in power, and put ISIS in power. Our federal government often uses war and conflict to cover up its own murderous activity or to kill the very people that they formerly gave arms to, supported, befriended, etc. Whether one wants to believe it or not, most of the conflict in the Middle East has been caused by our own government. We are our own worst enemy. How convenient that we make Muslim people everywhere the straw man to divert attention away from the real criminals.

Yes, the American Church has a BIG problem: much of it is filled with HATE. To be sure, Christians are instructed to hate “evil,” but nowhere are we instructed to hate people–any people. Yet, the hatred of Muslims by Christians in America appears to be epidemic.

Hatred is a cancer. Hatred, bitterness, resentment, bigotry, etc., kill the soul. When Jesus instructed us to love our enemies, it was NOT for our enemies’ sake; it was for OUR sake. How can God bless a hate-filled Church when He commands us to love our enemies? How can He bless warmongers when he tells us that it is peacemakers who are blessed?

When America MUST defend itself against any enemy, regardless of nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, etc., we are obligated to do so. In the Twentieth Century, we fought hot wars against Christians from Germany and Italy, against Shintoists from Japan, against atheists from North Korea, and against Buddhists, Taoists, and Confucianists from Vietnam. But there is a huge difference between defending oneself against an enemy that poses and imminent threat and fomenting hatred against an entire people for the crimes of a few.

How can Christians claim to love God and believe in winning lost souls to Christ be so consumed with hatred against an entire people–most of whom have done NOTHING to harm them? Yes, I realize there are some who call themselves Christians who hate other people besides Muslims. Some hate everyone who is a Jew; some hate everyone who is a minority; some hate everyone who is victimized by an aberrant sexual lifestyle, etc. Hatred has been with us since the dawn of human history. But in my entire lifetime, I have never witnessed anything like I am witnessing now: the pervasive, widespread, almost universal hatred of the Muslim people–by Christians.

As I said, hatred destroys the soul. And I fear that hatred is destroying the soul of the Church.

Whose fault is it that mosques are being built in America? Many of the buildings being used for these new mosques are abandoned CHURCH buildings. The darkness of false religion will always fill the vacuum that is left when truth departs. And the fact is, Christianity is dying in the United States. No, it’s not dead; but it’s dying. There are tens of thousands of empty abandoned churches all over America. More and more Americans are turning their backs on the Church. What difference does it make which form of darkness invades the land? The problem is that the true light (the Church) is failing. What do you expect will happen?

What difference does it make whether the darkness takes the form of Islam, or Buddhism, or Shintoism, or Judaism, or Atheism, or Communism, or any other “ism?” The problem is not the presence of darkness; the problem is the absence of light.

The Church has lost its light and its love. Christ is doing what He said He would do to those who lose their love: He is removing the candlestick.

The American Church has focused on being “successful” instead of being righteous; it has capitulated to the lordship of the state; it fears the IRS more than it fears God; it has stopped preaching the “hard” messages of the Bible; it is popularity-driven, entertainment-driven, and comfort-driven; it has abandoned the fundamental principles of Natural Law and liberty; it has replaced genuine patriotism with statism; and it has used Romans 13 as justification for idolatry.

A quote from Charles Caleb Colton (1820) is in order here: “Men will wrangle for religion; write for it; fight for it; die for it; anything but–live for it.”

The Muslim people are NOT our problem; the problem is the American Church. It needs to start living its religion.

Be Skeptical of Dr. Oz’s Remedies and Rick Warren’s “Plans”

February 1, 2015 by · Leave a Comment

Dr. Mehmet Oz, who is a renowned cardiothoracic surgeon, author and host of a successful TV show, has involved himself in some, um, questionable cures for what ails you.  According to a Fox News report, a recent study showed that “Half of Dr. Oz’s health advice is bad.”  Die-hard Oz fans will more than likely ignore the study results and continue tuning into his TV show for advice from him and the panel of doctors that appear regularly, even knowing that Oz and the other doctors often recommend products straight out of Quacksville.

Our idols would never steer us wrong, would they?  I mean, Oz wouldn’t allow his fans to purchase remedies that have little basis in fact or that many in the scientific community agree are bogus. Test the “cures” and you will find that, in some cases, what they recommended is on par with the sort of thing you’ll find in a witches brew – bat wings, spider legs and crow bones.

From the Fox News report:

The researchers found that about half of the suggestions offered by these shows either contradicted what other scientific studies had found or had no verifiable evidence at all to stand behind them, and that potential conflicts of interest were seldom mentioned.

The study looked at 40 random episodes from each show—instead of simply, as Belluz points out, “cherrypicking the worst offenders”—to get the fairest assessment. In general, each episode offered up about a dozen health recommendations, so the researchers were able to cull 479 health tidbits from Dr.
Oz’s show and 445 from The Doctors. Most of the shows’ suggestions involved dispensing general medical advice, followed by non-weight-loss dietary tips; the Doctors professionals tended to repeat the mantra of seeking out a health care provider.

But while the benefits of many of the claims were talked about in a general way, specific benefits and magnitude of those benefits, possible drawbacks, and costs were virtually ignored, the study found.

The researchers’ conclusion? “Consumers should be skeptical,” and we should ask ourselves “whether we should expect medical talk shows to provide more than entertainment.” (Dr. Oz’s “magic bean” recently lost the study that supported it.) (Fox News’ link.  Emphasis added.)

Meet Mehmet

This is not the first time I’ve reported on Dr. Oz.  In early 2011, I wrote a piece to alert the Church that  SBC pastor and best-selling author Rick Warren had elicited the help of three doctors to write a plan (Warren is all about plans) to promote health and fitness for his church located in Lake Forest CA.  What struck me was that all three doctors hold New Age/New Thought beliefs. Moreover, the trio is involved in what some deem questionable medical practices.  One of the docs Warren asked to help with his endeavor to lose much needed weight and start his journey to better health was Dr. Mehmet Oz.  The end result was The Daniel Plan.

I noted back in 2011 in my piece titled “Rick Warren Introduces the ‘Devil Plan’” that:

Oprah Winfrey’s “favorite doctor” is a Muslim and has been influenced by the mysticism of Sufi Muslims.  Moreover, he is keen on the ideas of cultist mystic Emanuel Swedenborg:

“As I came into contact with Swedenborg’s many writing I began to understand Swedenborg’s profound insights and how they applied directly to my life.”

Swedenborg believed he could pass between the life to come and the present.  What is more he claimed he had conversations with spirits of the dearly departed as well as angelic beings:

“[T]he spirit world was comprised of a number of concentric spheres, each with its own density and inhabitants. There is no such thing as hell or eternal punishment. Those spirits who find themselves in a hellish place after death can evolve toward a higher spiritual plane.

“In spite of it being granted to him ‘to be constantly and uninterruptedly in company with spirits and angels,’ Swedenborg did issue a caution in regard to receiving counsel from just any spirit that might manifest with an alleged personal message. “When spirits begin to speak,” he wrote in Miscellaneous Theological Works (1996), “care should be taken not to believe them, for nearly everything they say is made up by them.…They love to feign. Whatever be the topic spoken of, they think they know it, and if man listens and believes, they insist, and in various ways deceive and seduce.” (Source)

Dr. Oz is a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation:

“When I meditate, I go to that place where truth lives. I can see what reality really is, and it is so much easier to form good relationships then.”

Do a Google search on Dr. Oz and you’ll find posts from people complaining that he’s irresponsible because he promotes things which have no scientific evidence to support them. Until something is proven, doctors should not promote it as it could endanger lives.  One example of an unscientific practice he promotes is Reiki, which New Agers believe to be a “guided Universal Life Force Energy.”  Dr. Oz’s wife is a Reiki Master.  “Reiki,” he said, “is my favorite treatment that could change the future of medicine forever.”  He also pontificated:

“I think [Reiki] may be ultimately the most important alternative medicine treatment of all. And we are embarking on this whole new vista of opportunities, it broadens dramatically the spectrum of where we might be able to go in our bodies, and this is the area of energy medicine.”(Source)

It is rather curious that Rick Warren would team up with a man whose fame he owes in part to New Age High Priestess Oprah Winfrey.  Dr. Oz’s worldview more closely aligns to New Age Spirituality than to historic orthodox Christianity.  (Source)

It is unlikely that those who are not Christians will recognize the danger in some of the beliefs held by Dr. Oz.  However, the serious Christian should find his fondness for the world of the occult deeply troubling.  Even though Paul makes it perfectly clear in 2 Corinthians 6:1 that believers must not be unevenly yoked with unbelievers, Pastor Warren wasn’t the least bit concerned about partnering with a Sufi Muslim.   Without question Muslims reject the God of the Bible, thus they’re unbelievers.  Yet he chose Dr. Oz and two other doctors, both of whom are steeped in Eastern mysticism, to collaborate on a “biblical” health and fitness plan.  Sadly, because of Warren’s foolhardiness many undiscerning Christians think there’s no problem purchasing the products and participating in the pagan practices pushed on the public by the three mystics.

In November 2014, adoring fans learned that their beloved Mehmet admitted to a congressional committee that the “Magic” diet bean that he promoted had no scientific backing. The reason he gave for defrauding the public?  “[H]e’s in the business of hope “to get folks to … rethink their future…” (Source)

People, especially evangelicals, need to rethink taking any sort of advice from this man.  Likewise, folks should rethink taking advice from popular pastors who stray from preaching the true gospel of Christ from their pulpits and instead put all their energy into clever plans to make their congregations feel better, look better, and “be all that you can be.”

Is it God’s will for His people to live “Your Best Life Now”?  A growing number of professing Christians like to think so.  But nothing could be further from the truth.  Anyone who takes time to read/study the Bible will quickly learn that God’s will for His people, as long as He allows us to remain here on Earth, is to…… suffer.  (Philippians 1:292 Timothy 3:121 Peter 4:15-19; Acts 14:22)  This could mean mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.  (Corinthians 4:8)  But, “we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)  And by the way, Christians are not meant to be alone in our suffering.  The Lord’s intention is for the church to provide a safe harbor for those who are suffering, a place where we can go and have our needs met, where we can find comfort, peace and rest for our souls.

I’ll close with one of many warnings the Apostle Paul passed on to the early Church, a warning that the man who has taken on the task of shepherding Saddleback Church’s sheep has failed to take seriously.

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (Ephesians 5:11)

Evolutionary Cosmologies: Religious Endeavor To Become Like God

November 23, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

Throughout the de-Christianized West and America neo-pagan and mystical pantheist evolutionary reasoning is taken for granted throughout the college curriculum, just as it is in all aspects of modern thought and experience.  It not only undergirds biological and earth sciences, but also Freudian and Jungian psychology, anthropology, law, sociology, politics, economics, the media, arts, medicine, and all other academic—and increasingly seminarian—disciplines as well. The West’s amoral transnational elite Gnostics, the “chosen” ones, are particularly enamored of evolutionary reasoning:

We can only pray there will be a return to God and sanity before the terrible sentence is pronounced: “God has given them over” to the consequences of their own settled choices.”  (Renaissance: The Power of the Gospel However Dark the Times, Os Guinness, p. 20)

Evolution: what is it?

Evolution has always been a fundamentally spiritual concept.  In fact, some of the first thinkers to seriously explore the topic—the German Idealists of the early 19th century—were mystic philosophers who predated Darwin’s Origin of Species by at least a century.”  (A Brief History of Evolutionary Spirituality, Tom Huston)

Rene Guenon (1886-1951) concurs.  Guenon was a French metaphysician, writer, and editor who was largely responsible for laying the metaphysical groundwork for the Traditionalist or Perennialist school of thought in the early twentieth century.   In his brilliant critical analysis of Theosophy and Spiritism entitled, “The Spiritist Fallacy”  Guenon investigates and exposes the satanic esotericism working through various modern Western secret societies to pervert true religion—orthodox Christianity in particular— in order to ultimately turn the world over to Luciferian forces.

Guenon reveals that in early Theosophist and spiritist circles use of the word ‘progress’ or ‘progressivist’ preceded the use of the word ‘evolution.’ The roots of Theosophy, hence of evolution–the universal life force–stretch back to the ancient Upanishads of India in the East and in the West to ancient Babylon, Egypt and Greece.  In its modern version, progress, transformism, and/or evolution describes the progress (transmigration) of soul made possible by the life force as it inhabits in succession the bodies of different kinds of beings over the course of thousands or even millions and billions of years.

Eventually the word evolution became preferred, especially by empirical realists and materialists like Karl Marx because it had a more ‘scientific’ allure:

“This kind of ‘verbalism’…provides the illusion of thought for those incapable of really thinking…”  (ibid, p. 231)

Evolution is an ancient occult doctrine originating in ancient Babylonian Cabbala, Egyptian Hermetic magic and Mystery Religion traditions both East and West from the time of Babylon—the mother of all Mystery Religions—that entered Christendom during the Renaissance.  In “God and the Knowledge of Reality,” the Catholic philosopher and historian, Thomas Molnar (1921–2010), reveals that certain Christian theologians, mystics and scholars such as Emanuel Swedenborg had discovered Hermetic magic and occult Jewish Cabbala texts which they studied and translated resulting in Hermetic Cabbala. Then like Pico della Mirandola, they argued that Hermetic Cabbala— the divine occult science or Magic Way of reaching divine status and powers through initiation, evolution (progress), and ritual procedures is the best proof of the divinity of Christ. In other words said Molnar,

“…..by the time of the Renaissance the esoteric texts of the first centuries A.D. had acquired in scholarly and humanist circles an unparalleled prestige, confronting as equals the texts held sacred by the church. In Pico’s estimation, ‘nulla est scientia que nos magis certificet de divinitate Christ quam magia et Cabala’ (there is no science that would prove for us Christ’s divinity better than magic and the Cabala.)” (pp. 78-79)

That Hermetic magic and Babylonian Cabbala are ancient Mystery Religion traditions undergirded by evolution is affirmed by G. H. Pember in his classic work, “Earth’s Earliest Ages.”    In his impeccably researched book Pember thoroughly examines the role of fallen angels in connection with the occult science they taught to pre-flood generations and compares them to the explosion of spiritism (open intercourse with evil spirits), astrology, the Mysteries and other occult traditions sweeping over Christendom.

Pember writes that the Mysteries are no longer veiled in mystery but boldly presented by the powerful occult progressive brotherhood that emerged out of the Renaissance as the fruit of modern science, especially evolutionary philosophy, which the brotherhood assert was included in the instructions given,

“…to the initiates of the Hermetic, Orphic, Eleusinian, and Cabbalistic mysteries, and were familiar to Chaldean Magi, Egyptian Priests, Hindu Occultists, Essenes, Therapeutae Gnostics, and Theurgic Neo-Platonists.” (Pember, pp.243-244)

Today, evolutionary dynamics and science as the instrument of the will of sovereign man has so thoroughly replaced the personal Creator in the consciousness of vast numbers of secularized Westerners, both within and without the whole body of the Christian Church, that one of the leading evolution-worshippers of our day, Professor S.J. Gould, goes so far as to describe evolutionary biology as the story of mankind.  Evolution:

“….tells us where we came from, how we got here, and perhaps where we are going. Quite simply, it is science’s version of Roots, except it is the story of us all.”   (The Religious Nature of Evolution Theory and its Attack on Christianity, John G. Leslie and Charles K. Pallaghy, Ph.D., creation.com)

In fascinated affirmation, Theodosius Dobzhansky (1900-1975) , a prominent evolutionary biologist and progressive creationist, sees evolution as a light that illuminates all facts, a trajectory which all lines of thought must follow, for if man,

“…has arrived at his present state as a result of natural processes rather than a supernatural will, he can learn to control these processes…The concept of evolution, which is now basic to the life sciences, has provided new and in some ways revolutionary answers to questions men have been asking for centuries. The two most important of these are, ‘Why am I here, what is the purpose of human existence, and what is the nature of the world of life that surrounds us?”   (Dobzhansky, T., Ayala, F.J., Stebbins, G.L. and Valentine, J.W., Evolution, W.H. Freeman and Co., San Francisco, 1977)

The most widely held evolutionary cosmology, or model of the universe’s beginning and development is the Big Bang theory.   According to this version of the “story of us all” the universe is thought to have ‘exploded’ from a ‘cosmic egg,’ sometimes called the ylem in a universe bounded by an edge.  The Encyclopedia Britannica notes that the big bang is a theory,

“…of the evolution of the universe.  Its’ essential feature is the emergence of the universe from a state of extremely high temperature and density—the so-called big bang that occurred at least 10,000,000,000 years ago…..”(Big Bang Model, The New Encyclopedia Britannica, 15th edition, 2:205, 1992)
The big bang is based on two assumptions:

The first is that Einstein’s general theory of relativity describes the gravitational attraction of all matter.  The second assumption, called the cosmological principle, states that the observer’s point of view of the universe depends neither on the direction in which he looks nor on his location.  This principle applies only to the large scale properties of the universe, but it does imply that the universe has no edge, so that the big bang occurred not at a particular point in space but rather throughout space at the same time.  These two assumptions make it possible to calculate the history of the cosmos after a certain epoch called the Planck time.  Scientists have yet to determine what prevailed before Planck time.”    (ibid)

Distinctions are in order here. While the first assumption qualifies as true science, the second assumption, sometimes misnamed the Copernican Principle, does not since it is completely metaphysical, or philosophical.  This is illustrated by Edwin Hubble (1889-1953) who discovered that distant objects appeared to have ‘red shifts’ approximately proportional to distance from earth. Hubble’s speculative interpretation of this discovery presented it as evidence of an expanding universe without a center and without an edge (unbounded) as opposed to Hugh Ross, the popularizer of progressive creationism whose own imaginative assumption pictures everything exploding from a central point in a universe bounded by an edge. (Refuting Compromise: A Biblical and Scientific Refutation of ‘Progressive Creationism’ as Popularized by Astronomer Hugh Ross, Jonathan Sarfati, Ph.D., F.M., p. 146-147)

Ross’s brand of evolutionary Christianity is wildly popular among certain Christians.  It was as a teenager that Ross decided the non-biblical big bang was a fact, thus it is the foundation stone of his twisted Scriptures—twisted because his big bang assumptions lead him to trip, stumble and fall down evolution’s downward-spiraling vortex blurring distinctions between humans and animals as he goes. (ibid)

The Big Bang is devoid of experimental proof, yet because the universe is definitely running down this fact surely points to some kind of beginning. This is apparently why some Christian leaders–theistic evolutionists and progressive creationists such as Pope Francis, Hugh Ross, Tim Keller and many others who feel we simply have to accept the evolutionists’ billions of years— have decided to accept the Big Bang theory. After all, the Big Bang requires a beginning, and they feel this fits with the Bible.  (Big Bang — The Bucks Stop There, Henry Morris, Ph.D., icr.org)

However, not only does the Big Bang—or any other evolutionary cosmology—- not fit into the Bible but it also turns the Creator, Jesus Christ, into a liar, for He said that Adam and Eve were there “from the beginning of the creation” (Mark 10: 6; Gen. 1: 26-27) rather than several billion years after the beginning of the creation as evolutionary speculators hold.

As the Nicene Creed affirms, Gods Word starts with the creation of absolutely everything visible and invisible ex nihilo in the space of six days.  In his “Literal interpretation of Genesis” Augustine of Hippo notes that when God brought material reality into existence, “then time began its flight.” That is, when God created material things (the visible), at the same time He created space and time (the invisible) as their context.  (Creator and Creature, Douglas F. Kelly, Table Talk: Biblical Dichotomies, p. 6)

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh (matter) is no help at all” John 6:63

The Triune God brought the angels into being sometime during that first creative week and as Thomas Aquinas, one of the most respected theologians of the medieval church affirms,

“Nothing entirely new was afterwards made by God, but all things subsequently made had in a sense been made before in the work of the six days.  Some things…had a previous experience materially, as the rib from the side of Adam out of which God formed Eve; whilst others existed not only in matter but also in their causes, as those individual creatures that are now generated existed in the first of their kind.”   (Summa Theologica, ibid, Sarfati, p. 120)

Evolutionary Cosmologies: Imaginative Assumptions

George Francis Rayner Ellis, a high-profile evolutionary cosmologist lets the cat out of the bag with his candid confession regarding the important role of imaginative assumptions with respect to the broad range of evolutionary models of the universe such as the Big Bang. Ellis admits:
“…I can construct…a spherically symmetrical universe with earth at its center, and you cannot disprove it based on observations.”   “You can only exclude it on philosophical grounds.  In my view there is absolutely nothing wrong in that.   What I want to bring into the open is the fact that we are using philosophical criteria in choosing our models.  A lot of cosmology tries to hide that.”  (ibid, Jonathan Sarfati)

In other words, the Authority and Revelation of God, particularly in His six day creation account is rejected a priori not on the grounds of observational science but on the philosophical assumptions of arrogant, defiant speculators whose imaginative evolutionary models are metaphysical projects pretending to be observational science.

Another unspoken Big Bang assumption is neo-pagan and mystical pantheist naturalism, which ought to ring alarm bells for faithful, orthodox Christians.   Naturalism posits that the universe and everything in it, including conscious life, is the result of entirely natural processes.  The Big Bang therefore, is a neo-pagan and occult pantheist evolutionary cosmology, an esoteric program from hell that rejects both the personal Creator and the supernatural dimension.  This position holds true despite the uninformed claims of speculators like Hugh Ross who claim that God created and ignited the Big Bang.

While Pope Francis, Tim Keller and many other liberal revisionists embrace and endorse Big Bang cosmology thirty-three leading evolutionary scientists expose its frauds and fallacies in ‘Open Letter to the Scientific Community’ published on the internet (www.cosmologystatement.org) and in New Scientist (Lerner, E., Bucking the big bang, New Scientist 182 (2448) 20, 22 May 2004).  According to these evolutionary scientists:

“Our ideas about the history of the universe are dominated by big bang theory. But its dominance rests more on funding decisions than on the scientific method, according to Eric Lerner, mathematician Michael Ibison of Earthtech.org, and dozens of other scientists from around the world.” (Secular scientists blast the big bang: What now for naïve apologetics? Carl Wieland, creation.com)

The open letter includes statements such as:

  1. “The big bang…relies on a growing number of hypothetical entities, things that we have never observed—inflation, dark matter and dark energy are the most prominent examples. Without them, there would be a fatal contradiction between the observations made by astronomers and the predictions of the big bang theory.’
  1. “But the big bang theory can’t survive without these fudge factors. Without the hypothetical inflation field, the big bang does not predict the smooth, isotropic cosmic background radiation that is observed, because there would be no way for parts of the universe that are now more than a few degrees away in the sky to come to the same temperature and thus emit the same amount of microwave radiation. … Inflation requires a density 20 times larger than that implied by big bang nucleosynthesis, the theory’s explanation of the origin of the light elements.”
  1. “In no other field of physics would this continual recourse to new hypothetical objects be accepted as a way of bridging the gap between theory and observation. It would, at the least, raise serious questions about the validity of the underlying theory.”

4.”What is more, the big bang theory can boast of no quantitative predictions that have subsequently been validated by observation. The successes claimed by the theory’s supporters consist of its ability to retrospectively fit observations with a steadily increasing array of adjustable parameters, just as the old Earth-centred cosmology of Ptolemy needed layer upon layer of epicycles.” (ibid, Carl Wieland)

It’s amazing to see how many Christian leaders have not merely succumbed to the ‘big bang’ idea, but embrace it wholeheartedly.  Carl Wieland comments:

To hear their pronouncements, believers should welcome it as a major plank in our defense of the faith. ‘At last, we can use science to prove there’s a creator of the universe.’ However, the price of succumbing to the lure of secular acceptability, at least in physics and astronomy, has been heavy. We have long warned that adopting the big bang into Christian thought is like bringing the wooden horse within the walls of Troy.”

The Big Bang model is not the only game in town.  Among other imaginative models there is the quasi-steady-state model of the big bang antagonist, the late Sir Fred Hoyle.  Then there is the ekpyrotic model positing that our universe is a four-dimensional membrane embedded in a five-dimensional ‘bulk’ space.  Its proponents admit:

Our proposal is based on unproven ideas in string theory and is brand new.” (ibid, Sarfati, p. 182)

Then there are the openly occult multiverse models proposing that our universe is not the only one but that space is filled with an infinite number of parallel universes.  Royal Astronomer Lord Martin Rees, who holds the honorary title of Astronomer Royal champions multiverse conceptions in the hope that in at least one or more of them living beings created themselves who are far more advanced than our own life-forms. Rees believes that if this is the case, then super-intelligent aliens might be capable of simulating in their brains or in a super-computer the complex history of our universe, meaning the universe we inhabit is a simulation lacking real substance and existing only as a mental construction in the minds of highly evolved aliens who seeded our world with life and travel through time in order to control man’s evolutionary progress. (Scientific Mythologies, James A. Herrick, p. 216)

The idea that the universe we inhabit exists only as a mental construction is very similar to Hinduism’s Brahman. Brahman is the Great Cosmic Spirit – the Ultimate One Substance (energy field, Void, Essence, prakriti matter) of material phenomena, meaning that the universe exists only as a mental construction in the mind of Brahman: brahma satyam jagan mithya, or “Brahman is real, the world is unreal.” (swamij.com/mahavakyas)

Rees proposal is also similar to the fanciful hypothesis presented by Olaf Stapledon, a scientist who has always kept one foot firmly planted in neo-pagan and occult pantheist science fiction accounts and imagines our universe to be an artifact of the Star Maker. Building off of Stapledons fantasy Carl Sagan suggests that we are“star folk” made of “star stuff.” (Herrick, pp. 216-217)

Replace Star Maker with Brahman and “star stuff” with sarvam khalvidam brahma, or “All is truly Brahman” (swamij.com) and we have ayam atma brahmam: “The Self is Brahman.” (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.4.5

In the caption of his book, “Just Six Numbers,” Rees reveals that the ancient occult basis of his proposition is the serpent biting its tail:

“The ouraboros. There are links between the microworld of particles, nuclei and atoms and the cosmos.” (Rees M., Just Six Numbers, P. 9)

The serpent-powered Ouroboros with its astral planes or multiverses is well-known around the world in its’ many ancient and modern occult traditions.

Evolutionary Cosmologies:  Abominations that Desolate

Like witless moths mesmerized by strange fire, from the Renaissance to our own time liberalized Christian theologians situated within the whole body of the Christian Church have been drawn irresistibly to evolution.   Followed by countless unwitting souls, they’ve been flying into an abomination that desolates and ejects them into a downward-spiraling vortex issuing into eternal hell unless they repent and turn back to the Truth, the Way, and the Life (John 14:6).

Evolutionary Cosmologies: The Significance

Today’s broad range of evolutionary cosmologies symbolize the deep religious desires of certain men, who in their rejection of our Lord Jesus Christ and physical resurrection, seek autonomous self-creation, transcendence and self-redemption, thus are incarnations,

“….of the ancient, deeply religious endeavor ‘to become like God’— infinitely wise, omnipotent, autonomous, and immortal.” (Mircea Eliade, “The Forge and the Crucible: The Origins and Structures of Alchemy,” Dr. Erdmann)

They endeavor to become like God but shall instead,

“…drink of the wine of the wrath of God and be tormented with fire and brimstone.” (Rev. 14:10)  And the devil who deceived them shall likewise be “thrown into the lake of burning sulfur…” (Rev. 20:10)

Lies and Liars

Both Good Guys and Bad Guys…

During my four score and five years I have witnessed a series of boggy men created by our elite masters that have horrified the population, allowed the deterioration of our freedom, and destroyed our Constitution. The terrifying phantoms they trotted out were often contrived and bogus.

Communism filled the bill for several decades; then the Russian atomic threat became so real that many citizens constructed shelters. Recently the Muslims have been used to create mainstream fear and hate. As I write this Russian has returned to the demon category and is being castigated by our devious press and media.

A feared enemy is a necessary element for the progression of tyranny and the American people are easily fooled.

Fooling the public is not confined to the government. Dissident truth tellers are guilty a well.

When I began writing regularly a number of years ago I wrote about the power grabs that were becoming regular fare in government circles. These essays were popular and were widely reproduced. As it became apparent that educating the populace was useless; that the problem was not entirely centered in our government; that ample responsibility rested with our citizens; indicting our foolish populace was not popular and my readership and popularity plummeted.

The bogus prophecies that beguile Charismatic Christian circles are eerily similar to many of the fear mongering prognostication written by talented and ambitious truth tellers in patriotic groups; both tend toward dramatic predictions that do not materialize and in the process destroy integrity.

Sensationalism is scintillating and sensational revelations and predictions are broadly popular. Truth is profound to a small number of readers and onerous to the majority. R. J. Rushdoony declares that “—the ability to investigate, denounce, and condemn evil is no guarantee of righteousness”. He compares the deterioration of the Roman Empire to a similar decline in the United States:

“The Romans of old, like Americans today, loved to see evil exposed. They loved to talk about national scandals. Evil is interesting to most people, whereas righteousness is not. At a dinner party, a suddenly disgusted host said, ‘Let’s stop all this talk about scandals and let’s talk about something good for a change!’ The result was a painful silence. No one was interested in talking about righteousness. But freedom rests on righteousness (or justice). Without righteousness freedom perishes.”

I recall the Y2K threat that was almost universally considered serious. Various commentators predicted all kinds of breakdowns but on January 2, 2000 things were mostly normal. For several decades we have been regaled with notices of a stock market crash; hyperinflation; death of the dollar; bank failures, or a depression; nothing really serious has occurred. We have been told that Martial Law was Imminent, that body bags had been purchased, burial vaults stock piled, and that Mexican soldiers or Russians soldiers were active in the United States.

Following are some of the titles of articles published by a popular Libertarian writer and radio host with the year they were published.

The Draft is Coming 2006

They Are Coming for Our Water 2013
The Chinese Military Will Be Knocking On Your Door 2013

These are startling titles that are popular and get the attention of readers. There is often an element of truth but many of the events predicted never materialized and some of them were contrived lies. These titles provide an easy target but there are scores of other writers that use questionable statements to gain readership and popularity. He is not alone.

Charismatic Christian Churches entertain similar startling predictions made by modern day prophets who give the impression that their message comes from God. I have received numerous emails containing warnings given by these Christian oracles that are sent by people who take their words as gospel.

It is a deplorable mendacity to purposely lie to the public as a means of gaining popularity.

Both Christian and secular society should understand that our love for sensation and prurience is a result of our own sinful natures and that the perpetrator needs our cooperation to continue supplying us with evil fantasy. If we are serious about changing our government we must first change ourselves.

The Roman Empire lasted for over 500 years but it slowly deteriorated. Like the United States of America, the Empire began with a love of virtue but ended with a love of evil. Roman citizens, like present day Americans, thought that it was righteous to expose sin and malfeasance in high places. And, like present day Americans, they never understood that righteousness must start with the individual citizen’s obedience to the Law of the Creator; that exposing the sins in government and church would never produce righteous citizens.

Now, gentle reader, the above does not mean that exposing sin in high places is evil. It is not. Freedom is under siege and if we are to win the battle we must know and understand the enemy while realizing that exposing sin in high places will not by itself change our society. Societal change must come with each individual citizen and as individuals seek justice from the Only Source of Justice society will change and so will our government.
