America’s Nuremberg Trials
October 4, 2007

Those who violate their oaths, take note There is no greater need in America today than the need to get the Federal government out of our lives. That is the opinion expressed by individuals across the political spectrum. America’s Constitution laid out a limited role for the Federal government. That role was clearly defined; nearly all of the functions for government staying either with the states or the people; instead of respecting the limited scope of the duties assigned Federal government has ignored every barrier... Bush chooses war and tobacco company profits over children’s health care
October 4, 2007

As promised, George W. Bush has vetoed a highly popular bipartisan bill that would provide health care for uninsured low-income American children. These children happen to have parents who aren’t lucky enough to have jobs that provide health care benefits for their families. That is not an unusual situation to be in these days. So, looking up the word “quagmire” at Dictionary.com, I find that the official meaning, per the Random House Unabridged Dictionary, is “a situation from which extrication is very difficult.” Yes,... Farewell to Africa, good morning Iraq!
October 1, 2007

It was time for me to come home from Africa. I didn’t want to leave but sometimes fate intervenes in strange ways and the next thing I knew I was at the Jo’burg airport, suitcase in hand. But as one door closes, another door opens. At least that’s what they say. The first thing I did when I walked in the door once I got home — besides hugging the kids and sorting through the mail — was to apply to go back to embed in Iraq. And I just got an e-mail from Baghdad saying that my request... Read article
